I am new to DAZ Studio.

Ok, I installed Look At My Hair in Daz Studio 4.6 and it installed just fine.
Then I fired up DAZ Studio and have no clue as to finding it. I have spent an hour
looking for it.

As I said I am new to DAZ Studio and just need a little help in figuring out how to find LAMH.

I looked in My Library, DAZ Library, I look through python scripts, and when I ran out of place to look
I came here.

I installed it in I:\program\dazstudio4\

So where is it on the hard drive - I need a pathname
and also how do I find it when in DAZ Studio 4.6

Newbie are so cute aren't they ? (meaning me)

    Try the 'create' menu.

Did you install the Full plugin or the free LAMH player?

    The full thing.
The player was released a little later; I don't even know what it is.
I stopped using LAMH after a short while because on my system it crashed 9 out of 10 times.

Hi, please checkout http://www.furrythings.com/ : there you'll find the manual (which however should have been provided through the installer) and several presets for most common figures.
If you need any assistance don't hesitate to contact me at info_at_alessandromastronardi.com (replace _at_ with @)

I don't know if you still own it, but in that case you might want to sign up to the beta (which has now reached release candidate status) and try latest 1.07 version in the works: http://ovbi.org/bugzilla/

and don't forget tjeb, if something is wrong or it crashes, note what you were doing when it happened, and save both the lmh log and the daz error report and send them to Alessandro or Kendall :) Help is always given when there's a problem to be solved ^^

Thanks to everyone who responded to my call for help.

Ok, I have the full Look At My Hair installed and I also have the free LAMH player. I only have the full one installed.

Ok, create menu looks interesting. I will look there.

Thanks for the links to furrythings.com.

I will go try out everyone's advice and suggestion and return to let you know what happened.

Ok I went to furrythings.com and downloaded the Horse 2 fur. Guess those are called presets.

I installed it to DAZ Studio 4.6

I went to the create menu and the only thing listed was Attach "Look At My Hair" preset
So I clicked on it and it wanted a pathname to a preset so I found the Horse 2 preset on my hard drive but it only put on the mane and tail.

When I tried to get the body of Horse 2 furred, DAZ Studio 4.6 fainted and closed.

But at least I now know how to find presets.

The remaining question is How do I find LAMH so I can use the hair brush and the other tools ?

    Cheers,

Hi, you are actually running the LAMH Player, because you have the 'Attach LAMH preset' option, and not the 'New LAMH object' in the Create menu.
    I'd proceed as follows:

    - uninstall the player (or if you prefer manually delete the lamhPlugin*.dll files in /Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/
    - reinstall LAMH 1.0
    - when that's done, you might want to try if all works well (verify that you have the Create->New LAMH object option mentioned above)
    - eventually, and highly recommended, join our customer beta at: http://ovbi.org/bugzilla/ and download latest 1.07 beta version

Let me know if you need further help, I'll be pleased to do that.

The Installation Code should be in your DAZ Account 'my Serial Numbers' page. With that, if you should be able to get the activation code online (follow the activation instructions).
Or, if you prefer, you may email those to me and I'll provide it.
Sorry about the confusion, it seems, as other customers have reported, that upon LAMH sale the user is not notified the Installation Code automatically.

Ok, the problem with the codes is DAZ is calling the installation code a serial code. But once I understood that
DAZ serial number was the installation code, and the LAMH software had the serial code, just a small matter of going to the website
and getting the activation code. WHEW but it is installed and I am so ready to play with his great concept in plugins.

Thank you thank you and thank you for all your help today. Thanks to you I can rock and roll along.

1.0.6.1 DS Setup doesn't show the "DAZ Studio 4.x Files Path (x64)" in the therefore plain white field below "before continuing", above "Create Uninstaller: yes". Further more it doesn't install the plugin dll.

Where is the information taken from -- respectively where is the information taken from where to take it from?

Since Windows 10 setup decided to port my users directory in a new one (.000), hard coded and non recommended usage of system directories has been messed up. On top of that I am to use the DAZ Studio 4.11 beta in a dual installation to utilize a NVidia RTX when needed.

The regular stuff (content directories) is fixed for to run DAZ Studio itself properly and the

    C:\Users\<me>.000\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\dzInstall.ini

    is convinced of

    [General]
    InstalledApplications=dzStudio4InstallDir-64

    [ApplicationPath]
    dzStudio4InstallDir-64=C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4 Public Build

What has to be given to make the setup get the directory and install the plugin without setting DAZ Studio up from scratch?
