Movie Maker Director Bundle not working in DAZ Studio 4 Pro

Hello, this is the first time I have used the forums so if this is in the wrong place then let me know.

System Setup:
Windows Professional 7 64 bit
DAZ Studio 4 Pro

I have a few questions:

1) I was doing research on the Movie Maker Hollywood Producer pack and it said that Movie Maker for DAZ Studio is included in the bundle, but I am not seeing it in my available downloads. How do I get Movie Maker?

2) Does Movie Maker work with DAZ Studio 4 Pro? It says in the additional information section of Movie Maker that, "Movie Maker will not work with versions of DAZ Studio prior to 3.0.1.144" If it doesn't work in DAZ Studio 4 Pro it would probably help the consumer in knowing that before they buy the product.

3) Will the 64 bit plugin work with DAZ Studio 4 Pro? When I try to install it I get the following error message: "Error: There has been an error. The installation path for DAZ Studio could not be found. "MovieMaker DS3 (64 bit" cannot be installed. Setup will now quit. The application will exit now." Again, if it doesn't work in DAZ Studio 4 Pro it would probably help the consumer in knowing that before they buy the product.

4) If this does not work in DAZ Studio 4 Pro then does anyone know of another product that does the same functionality?

5) If Movie Maker does not work in DAZ Studio 4 Pro then how do I go about getting a refund for Movie Maker and the guide that teaches you how to make your own backgrounds?

I appreciate the help!

Unfortunately Dreamlight has not (yet?) updated many of his plugins to version 4 compatibility.

See this post -> See this thread for contact emails (and thereby how to ask for refunds) until Zendesk is working again: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/115/

Why? All those plugins are now part of the Basic DS4Pro install. You have all those tools from day one with Daz Studio now.

That looks pretty darn good for an Inde fighting game. The moves make the fun look to be a 10 out of 10! Keep me posted on the progress if you would.

Really Adam001 something should be made to ask DAZ3D to have a more precise policy as to clearly state the compatibility of DAZ studio versions with other software or addon. It is always vague; to say a product is compatbile with DAZ studio and not the version number can lead to expensive buys with the result of not being able to use the addon. This is not serious and excusable in any way.

It is even a kind of contempt regarding customers and users who deserve a little more respect on this subject.

Moreover I've noticed in DAZ studio 4.5 that many links to the daz support do not work and lead to non existing page! This again is incredible negligence in a software development; it's the first time I've ever been confronted to such a situation in 40 years of using softwares and computers. It's a shameful situation.

Its a year later and have just learned that Dreamlight is getting ready to release their new Movie Maker for DS4...probably next week since they are offering a new training class for it to start Jan 16, 2014. I bought the original one too and I'm hoping that Dreamlight will offer at least a discount to those who bought the original one.

That appears to have been misleading advertising on the part of Dreamlight, given that the "best-selling Movie Maker for DS 4.6" the Movie Maker Maestro training program is supposed to be for currently doesn't even exist for sale. It would be nice if someone from DAZ were to make an official comment or clarification on whether such a product is forthcoming, but in the meantime I'm assuming that it's just typical Waldemar Belwon (aka Val Cameron) e-mail spam shenanigans.

Not necessarily. I subscribed to the MM Maestro then contacted their support. They said Daz would have it available sometime in Feb. I am not going to be so quick to judge.

I’d be a lot less skeptical if Dreamlight had a better history of actually following up on promises. However, in August of last year, he promised in one of his rare appearances on the forum, in the LightDomeR thread, that there would be a 4.6 update for the Animated Textures plug-in “in a few days.” http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/26570/P75/#394585

And yet, here we are in the second month of 2014 and it’s STILL a DS3 only product.

So, not even going into all the previous promises and excuses that were made concerning DS4.X and Movie Maker, Mood Master, Motion Master, etc., that preceded the first post in this thread a year and a half ago and going back to 2011 (though you can read them here if you really want to trudge through it http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=127611&start=1120 ) I just had to shake my head when I received an e-mail solicitation from Dreamlight on January 5th, with a “24 hour only offer” on training for a product that’s not in the DAZ Store with an unknown price tag and release date. Especially since the “new” Movie Maker may very well be an “in name only” product like LightDomeR turned out to be and, outside of this thread and that one e-mail, I’ve yet to see anything on it anywhere else.

I have been told that any and all forth coming content from them that will be a DS4+ version of an older product will always be a NEW Updated and Improved version just as LightDomeR was a updated version. In my view the improved version is not what I wanted and I expect that to be the issue with all future Updated items. I would love my old files back in DS4+ just as they are in my DS3A and would happily pay for the same functions at my access in DS4+ as I have in DS3A. Only time will tell, as noted above they, NEW, are not coming out as stated anyway.

let me add - even if it comes out - he never made it easy to add your own background ( little info )
so all the animation end up looking pretty much the same .

Well, here we are, 31 days after the Dreamlight mailout, which means the return policies are running out for anyone who bought the lessons during the 24 hour offer period, and still no new MovieMaker in the store.

Gosh and golly, color me stunned. 8-/

Actually the FREE how too for Movie Maker had a step by step to follow for making your own Backgrounds. It was time consuming but not hard to do. If I could AniMate my Genesis Figures in DS3A I would be happy using both versions but then I'm lazy and do not wish to jump through hoops, animation is hard enough in either version of DS as it is.

Don't want to argue with you .
You have your point of view and I have mine .
So will leave it at that .
I can say that there were only 3 people that I know of that make any new Backgrounds ( I was one )
and it was not easy .

I was another and the background itself was easy, but creating the nodes I never got sorted. The mathematics of it as described in the manual didn't make any sense at all, and I finally gave up with trying to get the camera and plane to work together.

If I remember correctly, Movie Maker itself was essentially just a sphere with a background, and a shadow plane. Easy to do without a special product. The nodes were clever in that you could double click and quickly change angle of viewing.

The backgrounds themselves were good, because they were very high resolution. It takes forever to render to that quality and resolution. I remember rendering a Carrara scene for 24 hours for each background, and that wasn't as high resolution.

you missed the best part - you didn't have to worry about feet going through the floor plane
    that was the best .

Yes - I think I manually moved the model. That may have been where the maths failed.

You too :) - I'm not back yet, just having a quick visit!

Given that one of the many tutorials includes how to get money rolling in before you actually produce anything ( http://basic3dtraining.com/shop/ultimate-hobby-money-machine/ ). I guess this is actually his real business model.

I finally saw that MM is out for 4.6 ( http://basic3dtraining.com/shop/movie-maker-daz-studio/ ) at 30% off, and I would like to not only use it but produce backgrounds (heck, throw my cruddy ones on sharecg.com if they are not very good).

i am assuming all I need is movie maker?

The only other question is what can i do with actual 3D environments, can i say take a stonemason model and just use MM to essentially display pictures of it? (my guess is "HECK NO".)

It's not on DAZ3D.com yet, which makes one wonder if they've passed on it. I can't help but note that all but one of the demo videos are the same ones used to plug the original MovieMaker (c 2009), and there's no mention of new environments for sale... which you would think would launch at the same time as the software, if there were going to be any. It also appears that the maximum resolution the system's capable of is 720, which is way behind the curve by today's standards.
