Trouble with texture on clothing

Hi.

Im new to Daz3D so im still learning as i go.

I have a problem with the texture on some piece of underwear. The garter belt and panties are fine. But, the stockings are just all black, when they should have texture to them, and some see-through effect. Adding picture.

There probably is a easy solution to this. If anyone could help me i would appreciate it. Thanx.

I suspect that they are a more complex set - there are probably separate presets for sheerness, pattern, and colour (the last is what you have applied). This is to allow mixing-matching without having to haev a preset for every combination. Check to see if there's another block of presets, or another folder, for pattern and/or trasnparency/sheerness.

If that isn't enough to get it working please post which set you are using.

Hmm that was really odd. I just swapped back and forth between other materials & colors for the stockings. And it just worked. Go figure..

I have another question if you're keen on helping. Its not related to the original topic but... Im trying to learn so many things i dont wanto spam the forum down :D

Im using a edited version of a G8F Alicia. And i applied a skin mod (Altern8 skin shader). Since i did, the eyebrows are gone/changed to something more default/basic. And I have no idea how to get the original eyebrows back (there are no separate eyebrows in the Alicia pack) ...

When you used the Altern8 preset, did you use one of the "No Map" presets? Those will adjust the skin surface settings, but leave the underlying texture map files in place. If you use one that doesn't say "No Maps", it will load the figure's maps instead. For example, the "Victoria 8 Maps" preset will load Vicky 8's textures, overwriting Alicia's while the "Victoria 8 NoMaps" preset will just change things like the translucency and gloss settings without changing the textures.

I see, that must have been my mistake. Thanx for the reply.

By the way. I forgot to ask. Would there be any way to reverse this once i have done it, im far past the point of ctrl+z and ive saved over it plenty of times. Re-applying the "head" of Alicia does nothing now and the brows stay gone.

And if possible id rather not start all over again, i spent alot of time on this model.

Bite the bullet and chalk it up to "lesson learned"? :)

You could re-apply Alicia's materials, but then you'll have to re-apply the Altern8 No Map preset again over top of it. It shouldn't reset any shape changes, hair, clothing, etc. that you've done, but it will reset all of your surface settings on the figure herself.

I suppose you're right! :| Lesson learned. Save before trying big things.

edit: oh and re-applying the No Map did not work. Brows were gone forever... either way i found a good and fast way to solve this. I saved my shaping-preset and then started a new model and just applied it.

Im getting a new problem :D

With a new G8F, I apply the Alicia head & body only, shes looking rather tan. I apply one of the female NO MAP shaders, and she ... turns green. What am i doing wrong?
