Does Animate 2 work with Genesis 3 - 8 figures?
![first_anglico](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/847/n116F98B79EAA.jpg)
I was able to animate a Gen 2 Female using the Belly dancing aniblocks, and that worked out pretty good. When I try to animate a Gen 3 - 8 male or female character with any of the aniblocks it just ends up floating around the scene not really doing anything but flailing? Is there a setting or preference I missed? Does Animate2 just not work with all figures? Is there an upgrade?
I searched the forums and went through a few pages and didn't see anything specifically related to this, so if there is already a thread addressing this issue please let me know. I appreciate any help or pointers you can provide. Thank you
I am using DAZ3D 4.10.0.123 Pro Edition and Animate 2 shows up in my plugins with a serial number so I assume its the full version.

The plug-in works, but you need AniBlocks made for or converted to the figure you are using, especially for Genesis 8 which has a very diffrent zero pose.
Ok, thank you. So basically the default aniblocks included with Animate2 are not meant for Gen 8 figures, I would have to re-key them?
Yes, though i think some of them were converted (for 3 or 8 I'm not sure).
Is Animate2 development officially dead, or can we dare hope for an eventual Animate3 (I'd even settle for 2.5... ;-))?
Can someone from Daz please tell us whether or not Animate2 (or Animate3?) is still in development? Thanks!
No - a) Daz doesn't generally pre-announce things and b) Animate is not developed by Daz in any event (thgough I will point out that the developer sold KeyMate and graphMate to Daz, but not AniMate, which suggests they may have plans).
Please don't bump threads.
Hi Mr. Haseltine,
As a business customer, I recently purchased Animate2, but was disappointed to find that it did not work for Genesis 8. Perhaps that seems idiotic, but as you can see in the product description, there is no information about what characters it applies to.

Since I’ve only been using DAZ for a few months now, it is impossible for me to speculate about these things.

May I please ask what specific plugins or other options are there for making this product work right as applied to Gen8?
Thank you
As mentioned earlier in the thread, Animate does work with G8, but you need aniblocks made for G8.
Hi Leana,
OK, I understand. May I please ask then:
1. Is there a converter for all my current antiblocks (that work with e.g. V4), to G8?
e.g. I found this one: https://www.daz3d.com/animation-conversion-genesis-2-to-genesis-3
2. Also, I was just thinking that it will be difficult for me to know which ones are V4 abd which ones are G8 unless they expliitly tell us in the description.
=>Do you know how to tell what version a product works with when they don't put it in the product description?
3. I just looked in my Antimate2, but cannot figure out how to designate a created animation as a given figure generation (e.g. V4 or G8)?
Thank you
I have tried to export Genesis 8 in original T pose and added the blocks , but I can not export vie MDD as it said feature is not available in annimate 2 light version. How I can get full version so I can export my full annimation into new software CLo3d and add clothes and bring back to daz and do render
Please advise how can I solve problem
We have bridges to blender , 3D max etc
Appreciate you help,
Best Darja
