Characters not appearing in their "people" folder

I just noticed that at least two characters don't appear in their proper folder in my library content. Olympia 6 and Gia 6 should both load in people/genesis 2 female/characters. But they don't. If I use the search function, the file path indicated for them is this one, but they aren't there. Their materials, however, appears properly in the corresponding folder. They also are accessible through the smart content.

This annoys me a great deal because while I know that I can't rely on the smart content, my expectation until now was that I could reliably find a character in the folder where it should install, and that the file path indicates. On top of it, I'm slowly copying all my files in categories of my own making and I intend to eventually only use these folders to find my assets. But if there are files missing in the folders where I expect to find them, I'm going to miss them and these assets will be lost to me for all intents and purpose. In this peculiar case, they're in the smart content, hence the reason why I noticed, but I'm wondering now how many other files aren't where they should.

What causes this, how comes that an asset isn't in the folder where it's supposed to be downloaded, and how comes that the file path indicated by the search tool is wrong? Is that something I should expect to frequently happen?

I found both Olympia 6 and Gia 6 in my Content Library under People/Genesis 2 Female/Characters.

Nope. I don't have that many icons there. Here's the complete list :

Do you have more than one content library listed under Daz Studio Formats? Maybe the characters you loaded were installed in one of the other libraries, like maybe Daz Connect.

@odastein, If you look at my image, you see character names in the left column. Those are folders with items for those characters. In the right column are "actor" icons. Many of the "actors" in the right column do not have a corresponding folder in the left under Characters. Materials for both Olympia and Gia, iirc, show up in named folders under People->Genesis 2 Female->Materials, not People->Genesis 2 Female->Characters.

Unfortunately, your attached image only shows the left column, so I can't see what is in the right column. Look at my image again and notice the 1 - 104 at the top of the right column. That's how many icons, (in this case, characters,) are in that folder. Sometimes that column will appear to be blank, but if you see a count of items at the top, just right-click in the column and the icons will show up. (No idea why that works…) Anyway, Olympia and Gia should be in that folder. (Assuming you used the defaults when installing Daz Studio.)

The Daz Name # characters don't usually get a folder of their own in the Characters folder, but they do get a single preset (usually) in the Characters folder itself, and a folder for Materials.

Well, I had no idea that some assets were included in higher level folders only. I perceived the right column as : "icons I must click on to make the stuff appear", not as "content of this folder not included in lower level folders".

Are there other folders/types of content where some of the content isn't included in lower-level/product-specific folders? Looking around it seems that characters are the only case (for instance, if I click on "architecture", there's apparently nothing there not included in lower level folders appearing in the right column).

The Content Library will only show icons in the right column for the currently selected folder on the left. It makes sense. If selecting "People" showed all the icons for the subfolders, and their subfolders, it could easily hold thousands of icons. But I concede, it does take a little getting used to.

Yes, it makes sense, but I never paid attention to what appeared in the right column, except to click on them on when making a search.
