I'm looking to buy Ron's flares but I'm wondering what size the PNG files are... I don't use photoshop but I do use PNG's for overlays but I'm wondering if those are just sample pics.

The photoshop files are 2500x5000 resolution, so it's probably a fair bet that the brushes are probably very big, and by extension the PNG files as well. This one's on my wishlist for now as I'm holding out on buying too much until after I've secured Brothers and Growing Up for Genesis 2 Male, but Ron's stuff is very good quality so it's well worth a look if you're interested in some great post effects.

I think these sets look great. I'm hoping for a Christmas giftcard though so I can pick 'em up.

I picked them up yesterday but really didn't get a chance to mess with it since it takes me forever to down load items and it is a 450+mb file. Let me take a look at it tonight my time (Iraq) and I will answer any questions you might post unless someone beats me too it first.

Ron's brushes are typically over a thousand pixels across, often way over.

I don't use photoshop so I have no use for the brushes themselves but I do use a lot of PNG's in layered effects... Kind of like Jepe's special effects... I'm curious to know of the PNG's listed on Rons are full size or just small pictures meant for showing you what the brushes do.

The only set I have that came with PNGs, Ron's Mud, has them the same size as the brushes - approximately 2,000 pixels square.

Digital energy, which has a lot of layered PSD files rather than PNG the average size is 2113 x 3250 pixels.

I just checked a number of the PNGs from this set, and except for a handful that are smaller flares, they all range from about 1100 to 2200 pixels on the longest side for rectangle shaped PNGs, and about 2000 pixels or more on both sides for the square shaped PNGs.

I didn't check them all, but hope that helps.

Perfect... Thank you so much for checking. I think that it behoves DAZ to make better product descriptions such as file sizes and picture size SOP. You can never have too many special effects in your library.

How do you feel about the product? It feels pricey to me...

It is more than most of the 30+ products I have from Ron's catalog, but he doesn't usually add so many options in one package. IOW, he might add PSD layers with the brushes, but here he also included the PNGs and a PDF (which I haven't looked at yet), so you are getting more for your money.

I'm a huge fan of his brushes, so maybe my view is a bit tilted in his favor, but I can safely say I've never been disappointed in any of his products, no matter the cost.
