Well, this thread is awesome. I feel like i'm late to the party also because I've only just started to toy with this amazing feature.
Though I saw dForce mentioned only a few times is anyone aware of a place where a conversion of strand based hair to dForce hair is addressed in any detail?
Try the PA forum, dForce hair (rather than dForce cloth used for hair) is a PA-only, Daz store-only feature.
Thank you, good tutorial.
Is there any way to kind of 'finalize' the hair and make it look like any other hair in the viewport?
I am in the process of making my own eyebrows, but the viewport only shows a fraction of the actual strands and also the shape is very basic and rough.
It renders fine, but I would like to see the brows as any other strandbased fibermesh eyebrows in the viewport.
I have written a very crude tutorial here on some SBH concepts: https://www.deviantart.com/uncannyvalet/journal/Creating-Strand-Based-Hair-Daz-Studio-957594505
If you go to the Parameters tab for the SBH groom and click 'Preview PR Hairs' to 'ON' it will represent them all as polylines in the viewport instead of just showing the guide strands. This can slow down some of the viewport draw modes if you have SBH with many strands.
Thanks, works great!
