I can (sort of) answer your first question: I have about 30 of his sets (well including all the ones that came in some of the Bundles) and they work just fine in Photoshop Elements 9, so I guess they will be fine in PSE10. I only buy the ones that are simply brushes (.abr files) though - I'm not sure whether some of the layers ones will work so I've never bought them to try.
Second question - recommended ones: depends what sort of images you want to create. I partiularly like the Water Bundle, the Steam and Smoke and Detail Smoke sets, also the Birds. I've not regretted any of the ones I've got so far - but I managed to catch most of them in FastGrabs, so they were even cheaper than today.

I am rather fond of the special effects ones, especially Digital Energy, which I have sued quite a bit.

I always use the grunge brushes. They are my favorite.

I use the water ones and have a lot of the others in my long-term wishlist. The sci-fi ones didn't do anything for me, because they were more completed objects (not because they weren't good pics, they really were).

The Atmospheric brushes are very useful. (I need to stop being lazy and do more post work, but when I do use them I'm always glad they're available). I guess it would mostly depend on the type of renders you do as well. Ger what suits your needs!

my question is a different one.. please if someone could answer.. I don't have a program to use the .ABR files.. do the PSD layers work on their own??? I have Paint Shop Pro 7 (it uses .JBR for brushes... yeah .. I know it's old...but it works great and I know it like the back of my hand) If the PDS layers work I can resize them to MAKE them fit my scene on an alpha layer... I hope I'm explaining myself good... Thank you in advance for any answers I get.. Happy Holiday!!!

I don't know about the newest pack, as I haven't tried it, but I've used a lot of Ron's older PSD layers in PSP 7, 8 and 9 before I was able to get Photoshop reinstalled on this newish laptop. I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to use them. The only thing I've ever noticed with some PSD layers created in Photoshop that might not work in PSP is when the creator used some method or other that isn't compatible with PSP. I don't think that's the case with anything Ron does to create his brushes.

    Hope that helps.
