Finally got to try out a few new characters I´ve purchased last week; one of which is Kota 8.1, my first character that uses the new PBR shader. No results to show just yet. My first impression is that the skin looks good and doesn´t really behave different than the IRAY Uber skin we´ve been using. Next I will try a render with Kota 8.1 and Aiko 8 in the same scene to see if that works.

LOL, I remember that being a trend in custom Sims content, too. I always wondered about the appeal of guys who put on their underwear using screwdrivers.
My mind interpreted that her dress has a built-in chair underneath. I guess I'm still sleepy after a shower.

I had been away from my rendering PC for over a week now. But that didn´t stop me from buying things because I need help and there have been some pretty neat discounts recently! So I have a whole bunch of new-to-me products to install and test at once. Here´s Rocco, The Brute 8, and Sun-Kissed Freckles. I wrote a review of that last one over at Novica´s.

I'd like to believe I'm getting better at this and it helps that I now have a decent sized library... but I think what you're mostly seeing is that I switched to GPU rendering.
In theory CPU rendering can get you the exact same results as long as you're patient. In practice... night and day

IRAY adventures, episode 873: I started setting up this scene, applying a nice, dusky sun/sky preset. I added some additional lights, then moved on to refining the pose, skin, etc. Throughout the process I kept checking the IRAY preview to see if I liked the result.
Right before rendering I realised that somehow the render settings had reset themselves and I was working with the default HDRI, the blurry "Ruins" one. I hadn´t even noticed. When I reapplied the sun/sky preset I realised that I actually liked "Ruins" better! Basic-ass "Ruins" it is, then.
Is there a full-frontal version of this image? Yes... yes, there is.

There was a Tom of Finland style outfit not too long ago that I really wanted to like... but the details were all wrong, especially the fit of the jacket.
Here´s The Guardian for G2M instead (part of that awesome sale today), boots and cap are kitbashedt. I like it, I think it auto-fits well to G8!

It does! The G2 generation has a lot of really nice outfits that hold up pretty well. Also, you can hardly have too many leather jackets!

Expressions are hard but if one manages to get a good one it´s thrilling! I´m happy about how this one came out.
Originally part of a series for a, uh, different platform... decided to make a version that´s ok for this forum, too.
ETA: Hm... looks like the image might have been pulled from the gallery. Oh well, the ever-fickle whims of the internet. Deleting it here as well, to be safe.
