Shadows woth Iray in DAZ
Hello,
I looked and searched about this and tried out a lot of solutions. Bun none of these seemed to work right...
There is a szene with a g8 male monster and a g8 woman inside a room. (this starter room with white old walls and windows.)
Now i want to create a midnight szene with inside light. But those shadows...they seem not beeing casted at all or totaly wrong... and using light in the preview looks totaly diferent to the iray render of lights.
i can see the scene as totaly overlighted and see the iray render like totally to dark... is there a way to work with lights and shadows for iray in a much better way?
Best regards and thanks,
Micha

You can get a better preview of your lighting in Iray if you set the preview to NVIDIA Iray. Click the dropdown to the left of the camera dropdown at the top of the Viewport. Iray preview takes more computer power than texture shaded, You can use it in the Aux Viewport instead of the main Viewport, this is smaller and is less strain on your computer.
Aux Viewport? Ha, that is a nice idea.
I was trying the Iray preview but seeing those models in grey bevore the iray start is a pain^^
And it really takes a lot power. I will try the Aux Viewport. Thank you
There is another trick you can use to speed thngs up a bit. With your Aux Viewport set to Iray click on the Aux Viewport and open the Draw Settings pane. Select Drawing and change the Draw Mode from Photoreal to Interactive. Intreractive is a simplified version of Iray without all of the features. If you are using photometric lights it should show these correctly. In Iray you can have materials that emit light but I don't think this works in Interactive mode. Things like the Ghost Lights and some lights included with sets do use this.
If you are using Ineractive Iray then check the advanced settings in Render Settings and make sure your graphics card is selected as an Interactive device as well as a Photoreal one.
