Created custom closing - trouble using it with poses or dforce

Hello everyone.

I have been working with dazstudio for the last 2 weeks and I am loving it. That's why I tried to create a dress to use inside dazstudio, following a tutorial I found online. I am able to get it into daz onto a character and turn it into a clothing item using the "transfer utility". But that's the point where I am stuck. I can't really use poses or dforce to manipulate the dress and I don't know what I have missed, done wrong or forgotten. I have been searching on google and youtube for the last 2 days but I can't figure it out. While posing the dress the geometry streches a lot between the legs and it does not look like a fabric. When trying to use dforce the whole dress is blown out of proportion. I tried using weightmaps, following a video on youtube but that didn' change a thing. I have the feeling that there's a problem with the mesh but I don't know what and why. I will attach some screenshots to clarify my problem. Maybe one of you know what's going on.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

For skirts you will usually have to use some exra steps. One thing to check in the transfer utility is the projection template/garment type (I can't recall the label) - I think there is an option for dress, which will give a better starting point for the skirt than projecting the legs. However, you are likely to need to do some editing with the Node Weight Map brush tool - for example softening the maps for the legs to spread the bending out a bit more.

The dForce explosion probably indicates that the dress is intersecting itself or the figure in the starting position.

Thanks for that hint. I think that I made the dress to "thick", I reduced the thickness of the material and it is no longer stretching. I will try to figure out the dForce problem next. Thank you so much for your help sofar!

    edit1:

I completly removed the thickness of the material. Thought it has to be there and that was the problem. Now the dress can be used in poses and dForce simulations is working ( dress looks like a nightgown now, guess I have to tinker more with the weights.)

Thank you so much for the help! Have a great day.

Yes, dForce doesn't much like double-sided mesh.
