Importing Clothes

How can I add my objects/clothes in DazStudio Library? They are .obj and I want to turn them to .duf. I want to have them in Daz Studio instead of importing the .obj each time.
Another thing is that I have to apply the texture every time also.

Are they made to fit the figure you want to use them with? If so the starting point would be to load the figure, import the OBJ, and use Edit>Figure>Transfer Utility - set the Source to the figure, the Target to the OBJ, and click Accept. That's probably not going to be finished, it will need refinement with the Node Weight Paint Brush tool (or to be set up for dForce).

  • That's not what I was asking, I am asking how to transfer object in the DazStudio Library.
I said I don't want to import the same .obj every time and go through the process you just mentioned. Instead, I just want to drag and drop it on the Genesis 8 as you do with the items from the library.
I want my own made clothes in the Clothing folder. Like in the image below.

You have to save it within Daz Studio. Select the OBJ, then go to File -> Save As -> Support Asset -> Figure/Prop Assets. This will make it appear in your content. From there you can add metadata (see tutorial here).

If you want it to automatically load onto your figure you have to do as Richard stated above. Once that is done and the item saved, then it will load as you want.

  • Thank you so much guys, this helped me a lot. blush

  • Hi everyone, I am just reading through this as I have a similar problem. I imported my garment successfully into Daz and it fits the Genesis 8 model as I had fitted it on it in a different program. Now before I can get to the great tutorial on how to add to database I need to add the textures I had exported along the obj. Do you have any info or tutorial on how to do that?

    Thank you
