Help making a curtain prop as a prop or as a dynamic cloth item?

Hello, my peeps!
I want to make a curtain prop. I am making it in Blender for later use in Dazstudio. I have two ideas for it:
a) A solid morphing prop OR
b) A dynamic cloth prop.
With Idea A; Would I have to sculpt the Open and the Closed positions of the Curtain and then do some sort of Dazstudio wizardry to make it 'slide'? And how would I perform that wizardry? What about sculpting intermediate positions?
With Idea B; How would I attach the cloth to the curtain rings or back hooks for sliding along a rail? How would I make it Dynamic Cloth? How could I make the cloth 'Stiffer'? How would I add details such as hemming and backing?
Any tutorials or ideas would be helpful. Thank you.
