saving my pp2 props to native DS format?

the goal was to load a finished .pp2 prop from poser folder, apply a DS shader from the mixer and save the prop to DS mylibrary.

i see stuff on the ds46 menu for create a product, scene subset,

then it says dson duf.

i don't want to save it as a poser dson prop, wanted it in native DS format.

do i need to copy the image maps from the poser texture folder to a mylibrary texture folder?

am i better off to import the raw obj files to DS instead?

thanks!

DSON is the native DS format - it's a DSON Importer for Poser, to enable the import of DSON fiels from DS. If you want a fully native file, use File>Save as>Support Asset>Figure/Prop Asset.... The names you enter in the option dialogue determine the folder names in the Data folder for the asset files, the file save prompt is for the user/library file, not for anything that goes in the Data folder.

if you are point the surface settings to retrieve the textures as the same folder as the poser version you wouldn't need to change locations of textures.

I package my Daz & Poser props like this

    data -my name-product name
Props - product name - daz mats (they retrieve the files from runtime texture folder)
    runtime -prop - my items
runtime-materials-my item's mats for poser retrieved from same folder as daz version)

well that's not a real good explanation but I hope you get the idea.
