Iray rendering too dark

I'm using the Spa Sauna architectural environment to create an illustrated scene:

When I try to render in NVIDIA Iray, it comes out exceptionally dark and no matter what I do with the lighting, it doesn't correct.    Are some of the Daz environments only renderable in 3Delight, or am I missing something?

thx in advance

On the lights, did you change the Intensity or the lumens?  I was trying the same thing the other day, and I couldn't find the lumens in the menu for the light properties.  The scenes I came up with were the same way.  The guy in the tutorial said to use the lumens and increase them to a huge number, like 50000.  The Intensity only goes up to 200.  There is a thread in the Newbie forum about " new tutorials every Sunday" or something like that.  It has very good tutorials about Lights.

Older models predate Iray and the lighting may not convert well. Old models with a skydome will block the Default HDRI.

If you can't find lumens in the light menu, it's probably a 3DL light.

Here's what you should see with the light selected.

    Thank you for that post.

I'm having the same issue with the Reading Room environment purchased from Daz.

They aren't completing the full rendering using the 3Delight setting, and in Iray there is no default lighting.   Daz should post these disclaimers before environments are sold.

The thing to look for is the "Photometric Mode" switch seen in your screenshot. This should automatically be on if your render mode is set to Iray, but it's always best to make sure.

Note that only the default light types (point, spot and distant) will auto-switch like this. Other light types you can buy in the store, e.g. the AoA Uber lights, will only work in 3Delight rendering, they don't work in Iray.

Thank you.  I tried that, but with limited success.

It took me a while to investigate this issue and I found the answer through a digital artist on Deviant Art.   Daz does not readily disclose the problems with products that predate, say, 2016, in their compatibility with Iray, and that lack of disclosure created confusion for me - I assumed they'd work with the Iray engine.   The environments I purchased, which are described above, do not render in Iray.   And I had a tough time using the 3Delight engine with them.   So for those that are new to Daz and are working primarily with Iray, a little research is warranted as to which Daz products render and which ones don't; otherwise, you will be disappointed in the purchase.

I found a work-around for the products I bought, and so far it seems to work.   It is Sickleyields RSSY 3Delight to Iray Converter:
