Clothing Fitting
I have the Midnight Skeleton (both the original and Gen 8) and I would like to put the Corsair (https://www.daz3d.com/corsair-for-m5-and-genesis) clothing set on him. With the original Midnight skeleton almost all pieces fit perfectly with the exception of the coat. When I apply it and it fits to him the forearms bend slightly and the midnight skeleton's forearms are always slightly behind the sleeves of the coat.
If I place the coat and do not let it autofit then I can move the arms into position but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get it connected to the midnight skeleton. I went through and tried to parent each piece of the coat to the relevant piece of the midnight skeleton. I parented abdomen to abdomen, chest to chest, arm to arm, etc. When I went to move the skeleton I saw that it was all connected to only the last piece I did, near the wrist. Each time I parented I must have replaced the previous parent, connecting the whole coat to the piece I was parenting.
Can I manually affix clothing to a character after I've adjusted it to fit? How do I connect each piece of the clothing to each piece of the model?
Any help is appreciated! :)

It’s not possible to parent an item to more than one parent.
This Midnight Skeleton figure: https://www.daz3d.com/midnight-skeleton ?
I don't have it myself, but the product details say it's compatible with G3M clothing and poses. I would suggest loading a G3M base figure, fit the clothes to him (autofit from Genesis), pose him eactly the same as the skeleton then hide the G3M and the clothes should appear to be worn by the skeleton. If you group the G3M and Skeleton, you should be able to move them around the scene too, if you need to.
I'm not on my DS PC at the moment so can't try this myself, but it may be that if you (auto)fit the clothes to a G3M you can just change the parent of the clothes to the Skeleton - it may be worth a try at least.
Quite a creative solution!! I’ll give that a shot when I get home from work.
That was the midnight skeleton by the way, yes. And your idea worked like a charm! I ended up using the Gen8 base model to fit the clothing to then putting in the Gen8 Midnight Skeleton and hiding the Gen8 dude. It worked so darned well... thanks for the tip!
Glad it worked out for you!
