Content in Content Tab has dissappeared

After a brief period of disuse, none of the content appears in the Content Tab. The paths are correct and if I open a scene with content that includes content that previously appeared in the Content Tab, the content is there. Has anyone had this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it the files that fail to show with a container selected, or can you no longer see the container list? If it's the latter the list is probably collapsed - there should be a little button in the top bar above what should be the file list or on the left hand edge (depending on which view you had enabled) which will reexpand the list when clicked. You could also reload the layout from Window>Workspace>Select Layout.
