DS 4.11 suddenly started to ask for a serial # every time I start it!

As the topic says. At first it asked for user/pass and I entered it; then it asked for serial and I got it from the in-program link. It was accepted but now after every start it requires the serial number to be entered again. It is not a big problem but it is certainly annoying.

I am advise to tell you that this could be caused by:-

overzealous anti-virus, overzealous anti-malware, permissions issues, faulty restored backup, drive (space) issues, registry cleaners, crash on close due to 3rd party plugin...

Nothing from those was changed lately; the only new thing is the bew version of DIM, update about a week ago. Today the both cookes of the site and the DS expired and I had to manually log both, and then started the serial problem; even I simply close the "gimme the serial" popup, the DS is still remains correctly logged  (which means the serial is actually accepted).

Maybe try running it as administrator and entering the serial then close it

never heard of this happening with DAZ studio but Carrara before 8.1 was notorious for it

Your anti-virus will be regularly updating itself. Drive issues - possibly hardware - are also a possibility.

The popup windows says different editions need different serials, i my serial is for 4.10 Pro, while the update which I got is 4.11 Standard. Can this be the reason?

No, the serial numbers don't ch ange across the major versions (4.x)
