Distortion when using previous G outfits on newer G figures

Pardon the sideways pic.
So my problem is every time I use an older G outfit (or even old M/V) on a newer Genesis figure, this happens. I am using the auto-fit feature on DAZ studio, so I'm not sure why this keeps happening. It's only with things like dresses where I seem to have it happen.
My question is: what am I doing wrong?

IN general, autofit has it limitations.
And particular for items with "shared" mesh. And by "shared" I mean mesh which potentially can be affected by more than one region. Like a dress where noth legs can affect it. I assume autofit will weigth each vertex to the closest skin surface.
Possible solutions:
* You can manually edit the weigth map, But this migth not be sufficient
* You can do one or more corrective morphs
* You can use some of the tools offered in the shop
like https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-clothing-converter-from-victoria-4-to-genesis-8-female
* You can try using dforce on the clothing
If that's Windows take a screen shot with the Sniping tool/Sni And Sketch - it will be much more elgible than a photo of the screen.
