Sugar Skulls Accessories Issue

Hello, I have just purchased the Sugar Skulls bundle and when I try to add color to the roses (it applies as a shader) I double click on the color I want and nothing happens. The roses stay the same. I've made sure that the hat (I can change everything else about the hat) is selected, I even tried to select the model and nothing works. I really love this bundle, but I need these roses to change color! I have tried both the roses for his hat and the roses for the girl's hair all to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. I'm a newbie so please be kind. I'm sure it's just me not doing something. LOL

Have you tried rendering and/or setting your Viewport to Iray? Those are Iray textures, so your Viewport won't necessarily reflect the changes the way you're expecting.
edit: I see now that your Viewport is set to Iray in the first image.
I haven't tried rendering, but I did set the view port to Iray. Let me try rendering.
You may also want to try opening up the surfaces pane and selecting the surfaces for the flower before applying the texture.
Yes, the presets are labelled "shader" so they're certainly shader presets which can apply to any surface, rather than material presets which change surfaces with specific names. To use shader presets you need to select both the object and the surfaces you want to apply the preset to, not just the object.
You guys are AWSOME!!! Thank you so much! It worked.
I selected the object went to the editor tab under surface and selected the flowers one at a time and applied the color via smart content, surfaces for the flowers. I probably could have done the same thing from just the surfaces presets.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the paths I have open for the next poor unfortunate newbie like myself. LOL
Thank you again!
Using the Surface select tool both the surface and object will be selected thus saving you a step.
