Hi all ,

You are my last hope...

I'm just trying to install michael 5 for the last daz studio. But I have an error message ... "Error writting ProcessNewlyInstalledContent.txt" gnagnagnagna...

I'm trying to install inside /my Library folder , but it's still doesn't work...

I don't understand where it's come from... Can somebody help? I don't understand anything about paths , the fact that the file must be installed where genesis is located etc... I have read many threads about that , but nothing is working on...

Can somebody help ?

Thanx a lot...

Mac or Windows? Install method (DIM or manual)?

    Oh f**** , sorry.

Windows. Manual method , got the exe's from a portable drive.
    DAZ 4.6 , and poser 2014.

I use to work on poser normally , but I have to buy some assets about Genesis Male , that don't work on poser. That's Why I really need M5 working properly on DAZ... Once My pose is ready , I export the model into an other render engine , called Keyshot.

    Thanx a lot.

One assumes that installing via this method has worked for other content, in particular Genesis Starter Essentials? Is there anything in the message that gives a location of where the file has failed to be written to?

I would have thought the install base directory would have been somewhere not directly in the root directory, but that should not be a major issue. What install directory did you pick? The message says it's a 'post-install step' so the content may have been installed, does it show up in your content (it may not have had the metadata for smart content processed)?

You may have a partially corrupt download, so if you can grab another copy of the install. If you can, copy the install .exe off the removeable media and run it direct from your HDD. Double-check (as if that need be said!) install options and check them against the settings you have in Daz Studio for content.
And, just to be sure, you do have enough disk space?

Go to your product library and download a fresh file to install

Install problems can be caused by faulty/corrupt downloads, so it is very much worthwhile getting that checked.

If, after a re-downlod, the install still does not work, then ... well, for a start, does the C:\RunFirst directory exist and if so what permissions does it have?

Nop , it doesn't exist... That is strange...

I think that message is about processing the metadata, so possibly a CMS database issue. If you use the Content Library tab can you locate the files and have you checked to see if the M5 morph has been added to Genesis's 'gene pool' of morphs?

Maybe it's me doing something vrong , where is the morph located normally ? How to call it once in daz ? Parameters of the subject , and the morph is normally here , no ?

The tab where body morphs are located , no ? Thin , Bodybuilder , Pear figure etc... The michael morph is located here , no ?

Ok , I created the repertory it's asking. And the .txt file.

I reinstalled the M5. And opened the file to see what is writting in :

    C:\Users\Myname\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library::Native

    WTF is that ?

More strange, to me, is why it is trying to add it inder the root directory.
Here's another 'silly question' - do you have a lot of folders in your root directory? If so that could be your problem, I'm not sure if Wint 7 has the 'issue' but there used to be a limit of how many files/folders you could have directly under the root directpry.
As another experiment, what happens if you try and create that directory manually?

No , not too many directories. I'm clean in my use of windows :)

The directory was created by me ! Telling it was missing , I decided to create it to see what's happening in there. And the .txt too. The thing wrote on the txt was on my upper post..

Load Genesis, in Parameters tab expand General, expand Actor, expand Male and click on Real World. If M5 installed a morph dial should be present in the stack.

    I don't have M5 choice ... :(
Where did you install the content ?

    Genesis morphs for Michael 5 are installed in: \data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Michael 5

I always use DIM to install content to a single content folder and have never had any recurring issues with the content it's installed. Make sure you always load a fresh genesis or a genesis character preset. Loading a previously saved genesis figure will not normally show newly installed morphs.

    Well...

I just saw re download the file , in case if the first one was corrupted.

I installed it on /my library , as usual.

But I saw on a thread, that I should enter in the content maintenance , to re-import the meta data. I click and I see that the morph is appearing.

It's loading , but still nothing to deal with ...

Really strange, that RunFirst folder should get written to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\RunOnce

What's the date on the installer?
