Unable to apply shape?

Greetings all. 

 

   I could use some advice as I am not exactly finding the answer to this in what my searches are bringing up.  I purchased this :  https://www.daz3d.com/hp-ward-for-vladimir-8

 

But when I apply him I get this :

 

Some sort of creepy young version of Santa! Have tried to apply the body shape as well as the head, but some window opens up and poofs away faster then i can read what it is. Advice?

    I can't really sort that out - it might help to post a full-size screen shot (resized to 800 pixels in the post, if you want to show it inline). Do you have Vladimir?

    In the picture it looks like you have eyebrows selected rather than the figure. So the shape won't apply unless you have the figure selected. Could that be the issue?

    Yes that was just in the screen capture to be honest. I have tried to apply to the shape but,, no luck.

    So some things are starting to make sense for me.  I do NOT have the Vladimir charater sadly that would explain why It is not loading.  Some of this is so confusing as it has no step by step that I can see.  So now I just purchased a shape and items for a char that I still have yet to buy. lol.  Duh...   So I am going to raise my hand and say,  "Is there a group of very low cost or free models and sets of clothing and gear for sci fi that I can learn off of?"  Because I so do not want to keep having my bank account take hits for things I do not know. because I do not know what I do not know.  If that makes sense? 

    Help!
