What is the protocol these days for DS and PS shaders?

Used to be the DS shaders were included in the Poser folders,
mat thumbnails would be shared.

but with the DS4.6 .duf stuff coming out, it seems to be separated these days?

there was something about the specular settings?

the texture files seems to go in \MyLibrary\runtime\texture

are there different file types between a single material preset and
a material group preset for something like a dress?

not sure a .duf file in the poser format folder will be recognized by DS4.6?

Thanks :)

and i better stop eating chocolate kisses before i sugar crash and get nothing finished today.

The rules have not changed. DAZ Studio can read native DS format mat files from the poser library as long as there is a poser file of the same name with the correct extension, even if its a blank file.

is it okay to .duf files in the poser format runtime folder?

If i put the .cr2 and .duf files in the same 'character' folder, DS would load the .duf?

Thanks! haz to finish stuff t'nite.

Not quite that simple, the straightforward "dump files together" trick only works for poses and MATs, so the Poser file is a pz2. If you want to set up a figure or prop to do this, there must be changes made to the D|S script file. This was discussed in another thread a few months ago, but I can't remember the details.

.duf files of any kind, including scenes and scene subsets, can load from a matching Poser file.
