Is there a problem with 3Delight in 4.11?

Ever since upgrading to 4.11, I can render anything in 3Delight. It just sort of sits there FOREVER. I let something render for a full day. We'll, almost a full day. From 10pm to 7:15pm the following day and it was a blank image. The same scene rendered beautifully in IRAY in under an hour.

I've found that 3Delight is incredibly slow in 4.11 unless I set it to Progressive render mode, then it speeds up a lot for me.

IS it possible that you had the render engine set to Iray and switched to 3delight after importing an OBJ, creating a new primitive, or using the Geometry Editor to create a new surface?

Does this happen even with very simple scenes, like a primitive sphere and a standard spotlight? If so, that may indicate there is a problem with DS4.11 and the REYES module but the raytracer seems to work? Sounds like you should indeed submit a bug report!

Glad I didn't update DS (from 4.9), and can't see it happen anytime soon=))

No actually for the scene you describe (I just tested this moments ago) the render took 4.47 seconds with Progressive "Off" and 8.69 seconds with it "On". So it must be something I'm experiencing in more complex scenes. I can't quite remember which scenes I've had the problem with - I do many renders in Iray so it's hard to remember exactly.

Ok so that sounds like normal behavior;) Progressive mode should only be faster when there's a lot of raytracing  going on (reflections, refraction). Would be interesting to hear if someone finds out what causes this thing. @Drogo Nazhur Did you try enabling progressive mode?
