Hi,

I'm sure everyone is aware how messy things can get when your working with 3d art and all the files that can overwhelm your hard drive. I find it hard to find the finished work I've completed, with all the mess I create in the process. I guess it's time to go through it all and organize the mess. I hope to use DAZ Studio in an upcoming project and so I thought I should maybe use the standard organization DAZ Studio uses. Is there a set standard? Any advice in organizing in general would be great. Share all your tips in staying organized? What is recommended when you make assets to sell for DAZ Studio and is it different for your other stuff?

I realize that I should probably just copy the location of the Genesis character and the assets but I thought I should ask here before I start. I'm probably just procrastinating though... Argh it's like cleaning your room when you were a kid. Thanks for the help.

This is how I've arranged my personal directories:

    Studio
    Animals
    Generation 2
    Generation 3
    Generation 3 Clothing
    Generation 4
    Generation 4 Clothing
    My Library
    Props
    Sets
    Vehicles

All of my gen 3 characters and hairs for example, go in the Generation 3 directory, while all items for gen 5 or 6 go in the My Library directory. I separate the gen 3 and 4 clothing out to make locating files for them easier.
