Preloads not working for PLANET GLISE ?

I'm a pretty new user and just want to make sure here...
I seem to be having a spot of trouble with the PLANET GLISE environment product.
https://www.daz3d.com/planet-glise
All the content bits seem to be there (found them under "Lost & Found" category in DAZ Studio but NOT under "Environments") BUT there doesn't seem to be a way to just load up a preset scene like with other environment products I bought (including the same artist's PLANET GLISE 2).
Is there an issue with the preload files? I have a screenshot of what the file names look like attached.
Thank you

The "Planet Glise !Pre xxx" files in your screenshot are probably the preload files.
OK, but HOW do I get them to do anything when they don't appear in the DAZ Studio user interface?
There is a ton of alien vegetation props in this environment and it would take forever to position them manually.
I don't own it, so not sure, but have you looked in your content library under environment or props?
Edit: By your screenpost My DAZ3D Lbrary/props/Petipet/Planet Gilse
I can confirm that location. If you are looking for it in categories, your metadata seems inaccurate, so it might not be where it should be. Lost and Found is where items go if metadata isn't installed, or not installed porperly. Did you use DIM, or manually copy the content? The metadata puts it in categories Default/Props/Landscape (/Ground and /Plants for the individual parts) and Default/Materials/Landscape or Default/Materials/Iray/Landscape (for the material presets).
Was installed vis DIM. Haven't moved anything at all.
Well I have found ONEof the preloads visible amongst the props and stuff listed in the "Lost & Found" category.
That DOES load up the set when double-clicked.
So I guess I'll have to remember where that is when I want to use that planet set.
It was installed in a weird place though...
Looks like something is messed up.
I would suggest to close Daz Studio, then open DIM and uninstall and re-install..
That's the Poser version. You should use the Daz Studio version, it will give better material settings. Uninstall both of them (Planet Glise DS and Planet Glise Ps) as suggested, and reinstall just the Planet Glise DS file.
OK did that. Uninstalled both and re-installed only the DS version.
Now I see the three preloads in "Lost & Found" but not anyplace else such as "Environments."
Still a bit odd, but if it works then good enough for now.
Okay, getting better. Most people use the Content Library's DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats branches to locate content, at least at first. These branches reflect the file structure on disc, so there is no real mystery as to where the content is, it is the same path as the contents of the product zip archive. How that is arranged has been a subject of much contention over the years, but that is another story.
Have you mapped the library folders in DAZ Studio Content Directory Manager? There should be an entry for DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats that correspond to the path used by DIM for installation. If you ever have trouble finding something, you can right-click on the product in DIM and select "Show Installed Files". The popup will show the full path of every file in the product, which you can then use to track down the elusive item in the Content Library.
Well attached are some screenshots of where DIM and DAZ Studio are set to store content,
Should the DS and Poser types be in separate subdirectories? Not that I have or ever will use the Poser program itself...
What's strange is as far as I can tell, all of the other environments I've bought and installed show up where expected, just this particular one gave me trouble locating it.
No, they can happily use the same location.
I'm not seeing any issue with the paths, certainly.
Hi, I've learned to check "Lost and Found" for downloads and installation, it happens quite often. To fix a product "lost" there, look at the Smart Content Panel. Make sure you uncheck the tiny box on the left "Filter by Context". If you leave it checked, it will not provide all the products. Now you will see 2nd button from top "Lost and Found". Click on that button, not the down arrow. In the Smart Content panel, depending on whether you chose Products or Files, you will see all the items in the Lost and Found category. I use "All Products" option, and you can type a search query in the find box at the top, but don't bother with environments, just use the name of the product. Incidentally, I have found that some products that appear to be "environments" were categorized by DAZ as "props". So that is a very helpful tool for locating missing items.
As an example, I found just scrolling "Maison Cubiste for Classic Deco: Ecletic 1. I typed "cubiste" in the search box, and it came up.
Now right click to "explore" or "explore product". Don't use other "explores" if provided. This nestles the product materials, figures, props, utilities, etc in the Smart Content Pane. Click on environments, or
props, doesn't matter which, you are going to Re-Categorize all the items anyway. Don't worry it sounds worse than it is.
Select "Environments" I see two preloads. Select all of the environment items and then right click. This brings up the Category panel.
Note scroll to product name, it will be the only one that there has a white check in the list for Lost and Found. Unclick ithe check. Next go up the list to Environments, select the box, so that it highlights, and then click a check there. You are free to make sub-categories, so you could group several other products as you like. This doesn't mess up the CMS. It is the place where you un- "lost" it and tag it as what you expect to find under Environments, or Props, or Landscapes etc.
Click ok. Now do the same for the Materials, Props, Utilities whatever is included. Do each type separately, but you do the same category uncheck from Lost add check to Materials, and you can even separate Iray and 3Delight, tho sometimes the Iray is already categorized.
When I'm bored, I go to the Lost and Found and re-categorize the products I expect to use soon. Time consuming like doing a cross word puzzle. You can make your own sub categories, like Medieval, Futuristic, Alien, Tropical, Ruined, etc.
So if I buy 3 different products, but they are all Egyptian, for an Egypt project, I can make that category, and assign the products, or especially, when you have a garment with addons that never mention the original, you can find all the products you have that take those materials. I hope this helps. The Category is default, sometimes you can't get it out, like Animals under the Figure box, but which I wanted to be under Animals, not figures. But the sub-categories are ours to create as we like. For animals, I unchecked Land Sea Air or Fantasy Real Life. I don't categorize that way. I put continents, then animals. I can find then, elephants only in Africa, or Asia, as example. So I can find a set of African animals, and not mistakenly load a platypus into the Savannah.
If they're in "Lost and Found", this means that the metadata is bad. I would suggest you file a help ticket, telling Tech Support about this. They should then correct the metadata.
The metadata is correct in my installation of Planet Glise and Planet Glise 2. If at some point it got messed up, uninstalling might not be enough. Go to the Products view, under "P", and look for any entries for Planet Glise or Planet Glise 2. Right-click on the folder and "Delete..." the folder(s). Studio will shoot you back up to the top level, so go back and Delete any others. In DIM uninstall all Planet Glise products. Refresh the "P" Products to make sure there is no trace of them.
Now re-install the DS version(s) and they should now be in the right place. Start with the Content Library to see if it was properly installed. You can verify physical location by right-clicking the product in DIM and selecting "Show Installed Files..." They should be in the same place in the Content Library. The Default category is Props/Landscape, along with, for me, thousands of other items. Default categories are best left to Smart Content to find matches to current items.
I checked the metadata for this and it's correct and nothing is in lost and found. The preloads are named
Planet Gilse !Pre 1
Planet Gilse !Pre 2 Iray
Planet Gilse !Pre Iray
I downloaded "Planet Glise", and hopefully I can show why searching for "missing products" can be so frustrating, but not insurmountable. I provide several screen shots rather than my usual verbiage to show the "problem", that I have encountered.
Image 1, the Product in Smart Panel loaded, Planet Glise, with the associated files listed. Select Props, then Load Planet Glise!Pre1.
Image 2 the Product in Smart Panel with Landscape>Props selected. Note only the individual plant, rock, etc are shown. This is where I think the OP became stymied.
Image 3 first look at Scene Panel. Note: only "Land" no Planet or Glise but there is a down arrow which when clicked on shows sub menu items
Image 4 The drop down menu shows Water, Group1, Group2, Group 3, Group4 Stones and Camera---click on any group
Image 5 Voila! The pre-arrangement of plants, stones, etc that the OP was looking for! Notice -no Planet no Glise.
Image 6 Just for addtl info, you can search in the Scene box for items within that loaded product, ie "Tree", and a list will come up
The problem for the OP is that there is no specific product name for the items in the Groups. So they will never be easily found outside the scene!
So, "Land", "Group" are the sub items that store the "missing" plants, etc. I don't think Metadata works with this situation. The Groupings are arbitrary. It might have helped if the Groups had been named
something like "Glise Land" Glise Landscape 1" and so forth. I hope this helps the OP and also anyone else who has trouble finds items that are not consistently named or labeled.
Now, to show I actually was successful, here is the Scene Panel, with only Group 4 and Stones "visible", and the render of that. Don't have to load the entire scene if the focus will be among those plantings.
Another thing I wanted to mention, is there is a little x by the main item "Land". The x when checked means the items within the groupings cannot be changed from the original arrangement. Uncheck it, and there is more choice, but probably not really useful.
I set up a scene for such confusing products, I rename the Groups, like North Side and West side for example. I don't ungroup them. I "SAVE AS" my scene as "PlanetGliseBASESCENE, and and afterwards, load the scene later, and again, do my modifications, add figures, etc and then Rename from my Base to "SAVE AS Planet GliseLoveScene" or "SAVE AS PlanetGliseBattleNorthSide" whatever works. I will have already converted from DAZ 3Delight by changing PLASTIC to MATTE, and then clicking on the Convert to Iray shader. Save as, and never have to do any of that again. Instead of opening the Product, I will open my converted scene, and then rename the scene with modifications, so I will always have my base. Hope that helps.
