Tesselation of dForce hair

How do I smooth the transition between tesselation points for hair? As is, they are rendering without apparent bezier curves, and they're looking sort of like sharply bent wires, when viewed up close. I tried upping the tesselation points, but that bogged down the render. I also tried applying a subdivision modifier to the hair itself, and that worked beautifully, except that my GPU caught on fire, and ran away from home. :)

Is there a way to keep tesselation points at around 2 or 3, with smooth curves between each?

If you decrease segment length, in Style > Style Curve Options, you should get more points in the strands.

Edit: I realised you said dforce hair, and not just strand hair.. There this option migth not be present.

I think I've worked it out. You set the tesselations to your desired amount, and then set edge interpolation to "soft corners and edges". Worked like a charm!
