Question about environment map and rendering.

I want to make an animation in space so I use an "environment map" in a dome as backgouround.

My problem is that when enable "Draw Dome" to "on" eveything in my scene is too dark.

Here's a rendering with "Draw Dome" to "Off":

And a rendering with "Draw Dome" to "On":

Here's my scene with the spotlight::

I want to use an evrironnement map since it's for an animation so I can't use a fixed background that will not "move" when the camera will pan.

I tried tweaked various settings in "Tone Mapping" but the results are ugly, what I would like is to have the same lightning than when  "Draw Dome" to "Off" but with "Draw Dome" to "On".

How I can achieve that ?  cool

Make sure on the Render Settings that you have the lighting set to "Dome and Scene" not "Dome Only". Adding the Dome should only turn on the background and add light, it shouldn't remove the spotlight.

  • The the lighting is already set to "Dome and Scene" so I don't understand why the planet earth is so dark and it's the same for every others objects I add in the scene.

Telle me if you need other informations to help me to resolve this issue.

Jonny can you help me to find why with an environment map my object are so dark when I render them ?

    Regards.
