Content Library - How to move items?

When I categorized products early on, I threw all of the clothing in the Wardrobe folder thinking that I could go back and move dresses, pants, bathing suits, etc into their own sub category later.

This does seem to work for all of the products that have a grey icon with a U on it.

However, when I right click on one of the products with a white icon there is not the option to move it.

What do the different colors of icons mean?  How can I change the white ones to grey so that I can move them?

Thanks!

The grey folders with the U are for User-defined categories, and can be manipulated at will. The white folders are the built-in default (and a few vendor) categories and cannot be changed, nor should you need to. The metadata for all products refers to these default categories, so changing them would really foul things up.

Thre are a great many white icons within custom categories that I created, so they could have not been put there by default.
To categorize my items, I went into Products, chose one, right clicked and chose Create Category From, then chose the destination category in Category / Default.
Interestingly, I can rename an item in Products, but I can't rename an item that I am about to, or have already categorized.

If its under a white folder icon, it is read-only. You have to copy it somewhere else to make changes. Not entirely sure how it gets that white icon making it read-only, but I have seen it happen when changing metadata from the products view, or restoring User Data.

Maybe it is from restoring my data. I have changed computers since I started organizing my items.

    Thank you

If that's the case, just copy the whole branch somewhere else, and delete the original, taking care not to remove a real default category. I have a completely separate branch under Categories, parallel to Default, for all my custom categories.
