... Hopefully a simple question...

Is there a way to stop DAZ Studio from generating ICON files in my render library? I don't use Studio for Image browsing and it doubles the amount of files.

    No, but you can switch from saving to a library to saving to a folder using the button at the bottom of the render window, then simply don't use the render Library folder (you can even point it to an empty folder, or a folder that isn't used for image formats, using the Render Library Directory Manager which you can launch from the Render Library pane's option menu; the lined button in the top corner or right-click the tab).
