Is this product any good? Advanced Rigging in DAZ Studio 4 Pro. How old?
I am thinking of buying this manual, wish it were an instructional video, Advanced Rigging in DAZ Studio 4 Pro and I want to know if any body else has it and what they think. How old is it?
I am going to start with another more basic tutorial and hope that is not too old and is useable. I tried to do Syckle Yeild's tutorial on youtube about making a geograft tail and only got a few minutes into the tutorial when I had to stop because the video is two years old and there were menu items I did not have and bones were supposed to automatically show up because we made vertex groups in Blender but they didn't but I did get the tail itself to show up after hours of trying this that and the other I decided that it would be best if we just stopped and tried to get a rigging tutorial. There are some like one or two things on youtube but not useful and also old so the software is different and I wouldn't know how to make it work.
So I am willing to buy but I am poor and not able to waste funds on things. Someone suggested a tutorial that I am going to try that looks good but eventually I will want to know more specifically about geografting.
So my question is where is all the stuff for 4.10 or something that isn't more than a year and a half old?
Sy's video would have been just the thing if the software wasn't so different and I couldn't find an older version of DAZ like 4.9 to download. I thought I still had it in my computer but I didn't.
Thanks.

That one is very old and outdated
it does however also have useful information for creating legacy rigged stuff that works in Poser if you need that
Thanks, that saves me some money, lol. I love that little animation thingie in your sig!
It is old - written based on DS 4.0.3.47, it says - but still much useful information. It is not an introduction to rigging, as you can see from the title and the store page. For that, you might want to look at the same author's previous title 'Rigging Original Figures in DS 4 Pro' before you tackle this.
I picked these up quite cheaply in sales.
" 'Rigging Original Figures in DS 4 Pro' "
Yeah, that is the one I got in my shopping cart. Thought it looked simple enough and understandable.
What is the deal with Meshology? They have some expensive products in the Daz store I think they did the clothing tutorial and the modeling tutorial that I bought part one of on sale. At any rate, months ago I discovered their website and a free geografting tutorial by the same lady, I think, that does the other tutorials I bought, and so I order it you have to go through their checkout system even if it is free and the download link does not work and then just now just before I write this I get an email thanking me for my order and a download link! Months later! I check the product page to remind myself what the product was and it is the SAME tutorial they have free on their youtube channel that I just discovered tried to watch but couldn't stand all the umming and awing and the slow pace and the fact it is more like some guy recording some lady discussing how she does stuff but not actually teaching, you know?.
Its hard enough watching the hair tutorial which is in the same format. I was seriously thinking about buying that under sea series but by gum if I am paying that much for a bunch of umming and awing before they get to the point. I am glad I got it on sale. Sorry if I come across more angry or rude than I am but its the truth. I don't have extra cash floating around that I can afford to throw away, you know? Hopefully they will do better in the future.
I wish that lady would do her own tutorials and plan them out better because she has some cool stuff in her store and I think I could learn something from her. I like her style.
