Occasionally, a pose just fails to work

I can't remember how long this has been going on, but it goes several versions of DS back. Just occasionally, I'll try to apply a pose to a character, usually G8 based, and it just does nothing. I can't find anything in the error log relating to this and I can't think how to troubleshoot this. It doesn't help that it's so intermittent that I've just sighed and dismissed it and I can't actually remember a specific pose that failed.

Any suggestions gratefully received, thanks.

Usually when I try to use a preset and it does nothing it’s simply because I had the wrong thing selected.

I have never had this happen. Poses working differently than the thumb, but never doing nothing.

I've double checked that i have the correct figure selected and that isn't the issue. I can't remember if this was true in the past, but certainly the ones I have right now that won't work are morphs rather than poses. Does that make any difference?

New morphs or settings using other morph sets? If the latter, do you have the morph sets installed?
