extension names file structure 's

I need to know were to put stray files ?
such as DSA,DSE ext names
there is daz files with blue ,orange, red colors?
I dont want to put these files in the wrong place. their has to be a way to do this,not just any old way ?

    Are these files part of a freebie, or something you have bought?

    I take it that these files are in a zip file? It would be a lot easier if you could tell us the item you are having a problem with. DSA, DSB, DSE files, are DAZ Script files, and they can be used for most things inside DAZ Studio. If they are texture files, they are often stored along with their Poser equivalents in the Poser Formats folder (Runtime > Pose), but it allows users to load the DS material rather than the Poser one (which may need tweaking to look correct)

    Most items, even most off site items come in the proper file structure they were designed to be used in. If you start moving files around and do not understand how the file structure works, which file calls what item from where, you will soon find yourself with a content folder full of things that do not work. Without knowing what your installing or trying to move we have no way to know where things should or can go.

    I have a lot of things freebies and payware that came with out a run-time folder just the pngs and daz (dsd dse dse )script file the info as what to do or not todo with them
    legal stuff
    I would show the files in particular but cant up load them . yes thy were in zips un zip to daz folder and thy just were all over the folder loose.
    I seem to like things to be neat tidy in your proper place .then thy work better .poser stuff I have done to a science,daz not yet .
    It seems to me stupid to not know were stuff goes,no rime nor reason just put it any were is good ???
    some one here has gotten stuff with out instructions as to were to put things, has to be ,I can not be the only person out in the world with this problem! frustrating.

    First Never unzip to YOUR Content folder before you have checked what is inside the ZIP file. Always unzip to a temporary folder in the future. Often there will be a README file that tells you how to install the files. At this point you just have a mess on your hands. You can still unzip those files (I hope you kept them) to a temp folder and check for a read me, then follow it to set up the files in your content properly once you find them again. If the items have no instructions personally I would NOT use them until another user from the site you got the files from told you how they work in DAZ Studio.
