Ease in - ease out is the default interpolation type in DS. If you own the keymate and/or graphmate plugins you can change the interpoation to constant or linear. You also have the option to tweak the spline curve and see in the graph exactly what is happening, using for example bias, tension to shape the curve. So I suggest, if you don't own the plugins and want to animate in DS, get them! Or atleast check for free scripts by mcasual in the freebie thread! And a tip, make sure on frame 0 you have set keyframes for every bone and every translation and rotation before starting to add keyframes. Easiest way is go to frame 0, select your character in the scene tab and expand all, select them, go to the timeline and click on the + button.

Thank you for the reply and on the tip about all bones key frame. Which of the two pluggins would you suggest is better/more suited to, or would work best/ease of use, for my needs? Do I need to do anything special to enable/use them? Is it just a new pane or found under tools/edit?
Graphmate is good for selecting one or more parameters (like hip z-rotation) and see a graphical representation of the splinecurve. You can then edit it using a number of tools, or move/copy-paste or delete keyframes. Keymate don't show the graph but a timeline with the keyframes for every visible object/figure in the scene. It's great for moving or copying etc many keyframes at once, and for setting the interpolation type for a bunch of keys. Long story short, you need both:)
Those pluggins just edit what's in your scene. So once you have saved the scene like you normally would, you're safe:) Or if you'd rather save as an animatable pose preset, sure, whatever suits your needs.
Well, it seems I don't seem to have these. No panes/windows as such, not listed in plugins, DIM does not show them as installed or ready to install. If they exist as part of the core daz, I've got no idea how to access them.
Suppose I should add, Daz 4.11.0.383 Pro 64bit
I'm sorry, did a search and they seem to have been pulled from the store:( They now seem to be integrated with the new DS Public Beta build, which you need to "purchase" for free. https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta
Yeah this is getting me no where. Clicked your link, took me to a beta listing, listed as 4.11 it did allow me to purchase an item that shows up in DIM as 'Public Beta Content 1 DS. DIM downloaded/installed as per normal. Running Daz, ver. still reads as 4.11.0.383 Nothing seems changed, no new panes suchs as graphmate/keymate. Basically a d/l that does nothing imho.
I've posted in their release announcement thread to see if I can get some help with actually running the beta version

Sorry forgot those plugs are now included in the new DS build;)
They have their own panes, yes, but with the latest DS build I understand they are sort of integrated with the timeline. Here's a recent thread you might want to check out: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/341016/who-wants-better-animation-tools-in-daz-studio/p1

You would need the 4.12 beta build for the intergrated timeline ; or the separate graphmate/keymate plugins - they need to be registered
Or, if you don't have the plugins, set the interpolation to linear with mcasuals script

You can run it alongside your current build. For more info (or questions) check the official beta thread here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/341006/daz-studio-pro-beta-version-4-12-0-42-updated/p1
Great:)
