I tried out the new Look Into My Eyes II. I loaded one dog and two cats. I selected them in order cat, cat, dog. I ran the script with eyes and head at 100%. Both cats turned their heads and eyes toward the dog. yes Then, I kept the same items selected and ran the script again. The cats turned their heads further, which surprised me. I did not expect them to move at all, because the first execution of the script already positioned them "100%". I repeated this several times, until finally neither cat moved any more. Is this repeated reposing due to spreading the movement out over the head and eyes differently, depending on what the starting point is, or is something else happening?

If we are talking about future scripts, I would like to have one for adding the light to the 360 degree panorama in JPG format,

so I could use such panoramas to light the scene in Daz Studio.

If such panoramas are in HDR or EXR format, they provide automatically the light to the scene.

Was thinking to use Look At Me II scripts and combine them with https://www.daz3d.com/lighting-designer--auto-fill

but may be is a better way to do so?

That is on my list smiley

How do you want to combine Look At Me and Lighting Designer?

Thanks for considering it. I do not know yet, how will I achieve that.

I need to find the spot on the 360 JPG panorama, where the light could come from.

Then place the light at such spot and find the normal to direct the light.

Probably will put the camera at the same position, to see the direction easily.

I have to try that manually and see, if it can give the desired results.

I have not search on the net yet, to see if any solutions exist for such a problem.

Just saying I finally picked it up today.  The first one has been easily the most used script I have and this one seems even better.  Thanks for a great product!

I'm confused!!! This morning I had a strange thing happen with the original Look At Me Pose Control. Does the new IK chain stuff in DS 4.12 interact with Look At Me Pose Control? I chose to move just the eyes and eyelids of the new Daz House Cat and the head and neck moved, too! I admit I know nothing about IK chains, but the cat comes with them. How can I control just the eyes when using the cat in DS 4.12? When I buy and install the new version of Look At Me Pose Control, will that let me control just the eyes again? In the attached image, I overlayed the before and after screenshots in Photoshop to show you what happened.

Edit: I tried the cat in DS 4.11 and the same thing happened. I don't think it has anything to do with DS 4.12 or IK chains. I'm puzzled. If I use Pose Controls to move the cat eyes side to side or up down, the head and neck doesn't move like it does with Look at Me.

Edit again: Even if I set all sliders to 0 and uncheck all boxes, Look at Me moves the head and neck. I am very confused. Maybe there is something strange about this pose that I used from the housecat product.

Huh.  Well, let me know if it happens with the new one.  It should not do that.  If it does, I will have to buy the house cat and figure out what is going on.

I probably can't test for a few days. I'll report back as soon as I can.

No problem.  Let me know when you are ready.

I tried the new script on the Daz House Cat, using the same pose that I had trouble with in the original script. I do NOT see the same problem with the new script. yes If I run the old script, the problem still happens, so it was not just some fluke at the time. It is a difference in the way the two scripts work, I guess.

Excellent!  I am glad I fixed it laugh

The script spreads the head movement over the neck, so 100% does not necessarily mean 100% on the head.  My guess is that is what happend when you ran it again.  There was still "wiggle room" in the head and it was moved again.

Hmmm.  This is with Look at Camera II?  It should not be grabbing the tongue.  I don't have that character.  What is the bone structure of neck/head area?

Thanks for your comments. The tongue placement comes from the included pose - see below.

Oh, great. I think, the other, similar figures use eyes naming, like Baby Barry.

Finally picked this one up, I can't wait to get it for a spin! Hopefully today I'll be able to play with it :). I suspect that it'll be a product I'll use for every render!

I need some help understanding what is happening with Look at That II. I wanted G8F to look at her left big toe. It worked fine when she started from the default pose, but when I started with a pose from the Personal Shopper product, she bent over backwards instead of forwards. Is it because her left leg is bent back? Is there a way to get her to still bend forward to look at that toe?

Edit: I think I figured a workaround. I just have to manually bend her forward from the abdomen and chest first and then use Look at That and she will bend forward appropriately. I'll leave this here in case somebody else runs into a similar issue. Maybe this will help.

    I started with this:

    I selected these options:

    And I got this:

Edit: After manually bending G8F forward from the abdomen and chest and then applying Look at That, I got what I wanted:

Thanks for posting.  Yes, the scripts try to take the shortest route to the target location.  With her foot behind her, that means bending backwards.  Your workaround is the suggested remedy.

Thanks for confirming. At first I didn't realize the issue with her bent leg. The result caught me by surprise. There is always more to learn! In the end, I got what I wanted, that I never could have achieved without Look at That.

  • I truly love your product and was waiting unpatiently for the newer version which I snapped up right away. However I really have not used it much. I still use the older one because many poses look strange with the torso moving and the arms move along with it. For example if someone was in a cat pose, the arms would just swing up unnaturally. Is there any way you could add something that would pin the hands in place?

Unfortunately, that requires an IK (inverse kinematics) system.  Until DS has that, I cannot do what you want.

Does that mean you are implementing something for the new IK in DS 4.12?

LOL.  Not yet.  Probably not until 4.12 is out of beta.

Hm. Has anyone tested it with the 4.12 IK system?

    I think I shall tonight.

Although, can't you also just lock the bones into place with something like the amazing and essential Pose Mixer?

Locking the bones would not help.  What you want to do is NOT lock the bones so that they can move to keep the hand where it has been pinned.

  • I guess I need to experiment more with pinning. Don't seem to have a firm grasp on its parameters. Thanks for your feedback.

Very well done, RiverSoftArt, and thank you for making these scripts happen.

LOOOL Very Cute! That is a super adorable render heart

On the Eyes (in relation to RiverSoftArt's awesome set - I own the first one and will definitely be getting the second as I use Look At Me 1 all the time and used it in my promos actually) the Mushroom is fully rigged. That said maybe the issue is I didn't use the same naming conventions as Daz does on their figures - would that be why it didn't work on the mushroom? @RiverSoftArt If so, Ill be mindful of that in the future when I rig as I really do love your sets smiley

The latest update does NOT work with Mr Mushroom's eyes sad  Without the character, I couldn't really test and Daz Testing said it didn't work.
