32 vs 64 bit memory use!

i try some scenes ready to render and compare if memory is affected!

result,
in all scenes under Daz 32 bit i win 30% memory

loaded a scene under 64 bit needs 3.6 - 3.7 GB (pain to move/pose)
the same scene under 32 bit needs 2.4 - 2.5 GB

i am under Vista Ultimate.

Edit added:
But there is a problem!
When i try to render under 32 bit, >>crash<<<br /> it disappear from screen without any message!

I try again the render, just before i save the scene under 32 bit,
Again the daz 32 bit crash!

Does that happen to any other user?

The 32 bit version has limited memory available to it.

Vista can probably only 'see' 2 GB RAM when using the 32 bit version, a limit imposed by Microsoft, not DAZ 3D. When using the 64 bit version, all of your available RAM will be used.

How much RAM do you have on your system? You should get much better performance from the 64 bit version, if you are not, then there is something else going on.

i try several scenes with up to 3GB

the problem comes when i want to RENDER!
all other features o Daz have no problem under 32 bit!

    - the crash comes when created shadown light

i had no crash under older version Daz (4.0 - 4.2)

64 bit applications DO use more memory than 32bit applications. That is in order.

Your 32bit DS crashes because DS render process is going up to the 2 GB memory limit per process and crashes

Many ways to solve that :

1°/ make your scenes smaller => reduce texures and poly. I know not very cool

2°/ Use 3delight standalone to render. See that thread http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/17016/

3°/ Not something I tested but I should bring something : make your 32bit DS LAA (see http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/)
After patching, your 32bit application should be able to go up 4GB and will only crash at that limit while consuming less memory than a full 64bit application which leaves you with some more space in memory
