There are DUF and CR2 files for this item.

Have you looked in DAZ Studio Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > People > Genesis 2 Female > Hair?

It sounds like there is also a Poser version (CR2) which would be in your Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures.

Are you installing manually or with DIM? If manually, if its not in the location Jimmy just said or My Library>People>Genesis2Female>Hair then you probably need to reimport your metadata.

    [sarcasm]
It's ok Aidanna. I haven't been able to find my hair for years now. Embrace the baldness!

I'll let Jimmy and Frank be more helpful. :P

    Lol ... thanks, guys.

I used the installer, and found it under genesis 2 figures, which I would have never thought of ... lol. I don't use genesis at all, so it just never occurred to me.

I assume if I manually install there will be a poser version in my poser content tab?

These products have DSON installers and Poser Companion Files. Usually they install to the content folder in the My Library folder.

The only time you will have the standard Poser installation is if the product specifically lists a Poser Core installer.

Sooo ... it'll never show up in my normal poser content list? THAT'S annoying ... lol. I guess I'll have to create a sticky note reminding me where to find genesis items and what they are.

Since any DSON and PCF's I do use are installed to a separate external runtime, I won't say never to this. Since you aren't a Poser user, you probably don't have any reason to install the Poser Companion Files. These are the files you would see in the Poser runtime set up. AFAIK, they are primarily there for Poser rather than DS. If you are simply installing the DSON part of the files then, again AFIK, the files are installed to Content folder rather than to the runtime folder.

I don't really know if you can move the files to the runtime folder that resides inside the content folder. It might mess up the metadata and it might not. You could try installing the Poser Companion Files and seeing if they show up runtime folder and structure you are used to. I've never really looked at them but they may be akin to a remote call. This is just musing because I don't really know.

A DS user will the PoserCF in the content library under Poser Formats with a scroll icon in the corner - loading it will get the same .duf as is in the native content directories - DS will ignore the contents of the actual Poser CF, and the Python script it launches, and will just directly load the .duf file that those point to for Poser. As with Poser, the core files are needed for that .duf file to work.
