Exporting custom OBJ from Blender to DAZ - Where did the texture go?

I'm sure there's a very simple fix to this, but a few hours research on the matter hasn't brought up a solution yet.
I created a chain link in Blender, then unwrapped the mesh, and UV mapped a metallic texture onto it. (First screenshot)
Then I exported it as an OBJ (see next screenshots) and imported it into DAZ.
The problem is that once it's in DAZ, there is no texture anymore. It's white. What am I missing? (Thanks in advance!)

Go to the surfaces tab and apply your textures.
You'll need to talk to me like I don't know how to do that. I looked through the surfaces tab but couldn't figure out what to do in order to apply the texture.
In the Surfaces pane go to the Editor tab - you will see the default shader for the active render engine. Click one of the icons to the left of a colour or property bar to open a menu of options, choose Vrowse..., and select your map. Once a map is loaded it will appear in the emnu and can be applied to other surfaces by clicking its name there.
Okay, that's something I didn't know before. Thanks!
Here's what I'm confused about now though: In Blender, I had UV mapped the texture file to the chain link and gotten it just how I wanted it. However, by doing what you said above, all it does is negate purpose of the .MTL file that was created when the OBJ is exported? The MTL should be what applies the texture that I set in Blender to the OBJ that I want to import back into DAZ.
Now all I'm doing is taking that same JPG texture and reapplying it to the model's shape in DAZ.
So is UV mapping in Blender pointless then? At least for when you're exporting them back to DAZ?
This is what I mean: I didn't use the entire texture for the chain link. I just want this one part. Do I need to somehow cut the texture so it's just the part that I want?
Because right now, no matter what I do, it's using the entire texture in DAZ, which is what I don't want.
Wait, never mind. I get it. The OBJ is what contains the map so that it knows where to look on the texture file.
Thanks so much!
