I hope you all enjoy this latest incarnation of my Ape World sets.
I try hard to give you the most fun and believable high quality characters I can.
I know the first question will be how does this compare to the gorilla set already in the store, so to help highlight what you get with my sets as opposed to others, here is a a set of renders.
My apes come with detailed HD morphs, Clean non blurry textures, Material settings to provide very life like effects that render well, JCM's that make facial expressions work naturally, and very natural looking fur.
Looks nice, but I was hoping for the longer dForce hair.
Something like this...
dForce hair can easily be adjusted to whatever length you like.
I chose to make the fur more natural as to wild apes as opposed to zoo apes. But the nice part about this system in d/s is that people can always tweak to their own specific vision.
Looks great, especially the expressions on those faces.
Could you please post some render with the longest hair possible.
Looks great but are you not making any more true G8F creatures?
Why would I stop making G8F characters?
I use whatever figure I believe works best for whatever creature I am making. I have already done a ton of G8F characters this year, and have 2 others sitting awaiting release dates.....so no shortage of women. ;)
Here is a fun shot I made with the orangutan
I love him RawArt...can't wait to set him up in a few of my renders when I get time. He's gonna make a great Librarian!

Look forward to seeing the renders
Kong is King!
Any chance someone can post a long haired Orangutan render? I have this in my cart but really need to see how long the hair can be before it stops 'working'. Either way, keep up the great work RawArt! Even if people can be callous in their comments, you have to know we all appreciate what you do for us!
Awesome art RawArt!
I've been fiddling around today with trying to make longer hair on both AM's dForce hair gorilla and the DAZ House Cat - to no avail so not sure even if I get the orangutan that I could figure it out. Guess I wait until I have time to study and learn and experiment more. Unfortunately that is not today.
All three look great I had to get the bundle
I dont have any other orangutan renders going now, but i do have another kong
I think the PA would have to provide the options for longer hair in a strand dforce hair product. If a user goes back to lengthen the hair strands that would invalidate the dforce simulation that only a PA could fix. Hope I am wrong because it would be cool to shorten or lengthen strand dforce hair. This body hair might look cool on some human skins.
It's not hard at all to lengthen. Look for 'generated scale' in the parameters.
Mind you, you may want to play with other stuff. And keep in mind that if you double the scale (length), you are close to doubling the number of polygons.
Quite the range of emotions - so expressive! Great work, Rawn.

Thanks for the tips, Oso3D. That makes the trick.
I have doubled PS Generated Hair Scale and PR Generated Hair Scale.
Rendering time went up to 10 minutes 16 seconds - about 5 times longer, than with the default hair scales.
Next I will test, if my poor computer could actually simulate such long fur.
After 10 minutes of dForce simulation with parameters like this
I got that:
Before dForce simulation, the render look like this:
Any idea, what to do, to improve the look of the dForce simulation?
I would like to see the fur like on the reference image:
You may need to give the hairs more divisions, in the Surfaces pane as I recall (can't check just now) - but of course that will add more time to the simulation.
Thanks for the tip, Richard.
I have played with the dForce simulation settings like this:
and got that:
Slowly getting to the point, I like better.
Still do not know, how to add more shine to the fur.
Changed in the surface tab: Friction to 0.01, PS and PR Interpolation Segment Lenght to the half of the previous value
and PS and PR Generated Hair Scale to 200%
Thanks for putting the time and effort in on this, Artini! Your efforts are appreciated.
You are welcome.
After all day of the experiments, I think, that to get the fur react to gravity, there are only important PS and PR Interpolation Segment Length.
I have set them both to 0.3. I have left the rest of surface properties, as in RawArt preset.
Below is the result.
Just in case, below is my simulation settings:
That is why D/S is great, you can always tailor things to the specific look that you want
when i apply fur or iray body mats, the window came out.
where can i find blended dual lobe hair.dsf? this file is not in the data catagory properly .
