Are there any textures or templates for Andy2 ? When you fire up Poser, Andy is the mannequin that shows up in the workspace.

I like to change the look of Andy2. Is there any UV maps available for him ?

LOL! Frank, the figure that loads by default with Poser!
    an android skeletal type thing.
I am not sure most do more than delete the poor bugger then load V4!
think TB was hoping somebody had showed him some love

I haven't looked to see if the templates are included in the content for Poser. If not, you can download the free UVmapper Classic or use Hexagon (if you have it installed) to create your own templates.

Even if you do have a modelling app with UV mapping, downloading having the free UVmapper Classic on your system is a quick and easy way to make simple templates without a lot of fuss.

I can't find Andy either. I looked for mannequin but he didn't come up. Nothing under Andy or
    Andy 2.

Well I really like Andy2 popping up. He's fast loading and great to play with hair on him instead of waiting the long
time it takes to bring in V4.

If I am texturing a dress or some outfit, Andy is my model for sporting it until I like the textures. Andy is a blast to play
with in animation and with walk designer.

I find Andy very useful but I would like to change his look. I would love to get a clown texture for the old boy.

I never knew what he was called. It's only been in my scene once. That was on install. I startup with a blank screen.

I think most people do that. I don't think I have ever seen anyone actually do a render with Andy in it.

OH cool idea, look for templates in the content for Poser. Yep I have UV Mapper Classic already and I also have Hexagon. I find
UV Mapper Classic the same, simple and without a lot of fuss.

So, where do you think that template directory might be ? Under Poser ?

OH NO say it isn't so, lol. Well, Andy2 is welcome in my workspace. So what do you need to do to start with a blank screen ?

I just looked through my Poser directory and didn't see anything. SM may have them on their site. I also just take things into UVMapper and save my own

You get rid of Andy and save it as your preferred state in Edit preferences

Look in the figures library under Other figures. If you installed the legacy content there should be a sub folder mannequins which should have Woody the original Poser mannequin, Andy which repalced Woody for a couple of versions and Andy2 which I think replaced Andy in P8 or 9.

Another way is to go to prefs and reset the prefs to load to factory default. Close Poser and relaunch. Poser should load as if it was just installed with Andy in the viewport.

Are the materials in .mcz files? if so it's just compressed and can be uncompressed with most archive tools, though that won't give you a UV map.

Yes the files are .mcz Ok, so it's just compressed. I got my UV map from using UV Mapper Classic.
However, when I apply my texture to Andy2 it is so faded. I was not expecting that, lol. Is this because the file
    is compressed ?

Poser has a python script to uncompress your Poser files. Go to Scripts>Utilites>Uncompress

More likely it is being washed out by something else - ambient, reflection or specular for example.

Here is my clown of Andy2 if anyone is interested in it. I am not sure I can share with everyone cause you have to make your own
obj file of Andy2 cause DAZ's Andy is compressed and is an obz file. Then you need to uvmap that saved object file with something like UV Map Classic before you can use my textures. But those are very worth while learning and kind of easy to learn how.

Ok, by default, Poser is set up to bring in Andy2 automatically in Poser 9. Delete him and bring in your new object file.
If you have rearranged Poser so it's a blank screen then just import that new object file of Andy you made.
    Andy2 is at runtime/libraries/character/additional figures/mannequins

How make an Object file of Andy2.obz
Bring in or if already there, export your Andy2 model as obj object file. Remember where you save it.

Now using something like UV Map Classic, make two files. A texture file and a model file of Andy2. Again remember where you saved it and what you called it.
Back in Poser, be sure you have an empty work space by deleting anything there.
Now import your new uvmappedAndy from the place you save it.
Now go to your material list at the top of your screen and not to the right, and find my textures. Well I haven't zipped them up yet but I will tell you where you can find them in a later posing.
Once this is all done, click on your material list on the top left side of your screen and be sure you have Andy2 and Body selected
and find where I put the clown textures. I HAVE NOT ZIPPED THIS FILE UP YET SO I DON'T KNOW THE PATHNAME NOW.

I will be posting the textures to my sharecg account soon and will post the link when available.

I love comments, even critiacitism (I can't spell that word) so be generous with both. I may not agree with what you say
but it does open up parameters for me and hence better free products. I do find most critiacitism most valuable no matter
what or why you say so don't hold back your valid opinions.

Ok now an image of clown Andy2
