Parenting Strand Based Hair

How do you parent the strands to the object? I've even tried grouping but when you rotate the base object, the strands get out of alignment? Is there a tutorial on this? Can't seem to find one... Since folks are animating with hair, there has to be a solution, but I can't seem to find one...

not quite sure i'm following what you're trying to accomplish.
Just doing a bit of initial testing, strand based hair is automatically fitted to a particular object(parameters>Misc>Fitted to) and is painted on specific surface(s).
In the initial testing i've done i painted the hair on a cube(assigned one surface seperate from the other 6) and on G3F's head/face(top of head only) and in both cases they stayed where i put them regardless of base node rotation/movement, or in the case of G3F just moving the head/neck.
If you could clarify what you've done, that is, what you've painted the hair on and where, and what is being moved that is causing the issue, it could help figure out what's going on.
a simple way is to use mouse on the character list
grad with "mouse" the "hair" and place it on the character "head"
via menu, in the scene list, "right click" on hair and use "parent to"
on selection you can use the main character of for more precision, the character "head"
Dont parent strand based hair. Under the SBH parameters, choose 'Fit to...' and select the fit.
SBH will only successfuly fit to an object with certain geometries. It will generate an error if you try to fit it to a geometry it wasnt created on.
Quite so, as discussed in another thread. My experience, however, was that in order to get the hair from source figure to target, I had to use "parent" (after "fit", as I recall) and it jumped across but then, once in place, it would not move with the new figure. Only then coud I unparent and, to my surprise, it stayed where it was supposed to be on the figure as she moved or was posed.
