I "think" I load a .lwo file in Blender turn it into an OBJ file and then import the OBJ to Daz Studio then add the textures, yes? I don't mind no moving parts since I just want a basic render with it.
No good on the first one since it requires a "payed" account in order to download. The other links are all 3DS Max. Any idea how to convert 3DS Max files into OBJ files so I can use them in Daz Studio?
Carefull with that animium site; they sometimes link to sites where my McAfee is triggered to be alert.
I always used PoseRay to convert, but because you mentioned Blender I thought let's see how Blender deals with that.
Interestingly Blender creates from the Volkswagen Touran lwo a 38.602 kB obj file, whereas PoseRay creates a 77.514 kB obj file.
In both renders the cars on the left are from PoseRay and adjusted the materials and the cars on the right are Blender conversions and nothing done in the surface tab.
They look the same except for the license plate print. Don't know how to export the right way in Blender I guess.

Last 2, from 3dmodel.domawe have a .obj file. Hexagon can read .3ds files.

Well if there is a free one around then it will be in this thread http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/623/
You know how to handle .lwo files?
Looks like it has an interior.
And mind you: it has no moving parts.

Poseray is the best option for 3ds and lwo conversion as its free.
However its not the only option. There is also DeepExploration (30-day trial) which is very good.
Thanks, Matt. :)
there are a couple freebies in .obj format here http://animium.com/2008/07/corvette-z06/ and http://animium.com/2012/11/chevrolet-z06-3d-model/
