I tried looking at their website as well as searching the forums here... Does anyone know what their license is for aniblocks that come with animate2 plus as well as aniblocks they sell here. I m mainly interested in ability to include these animations embedded inside a file so they can be played back in 3d realtime (gaming purposes). Thanks.

am assuming no way but your best approach is to contact them directly
they may sell a game developer license (again I do not know)
a better source would be something like Unity game assets sold with this in mind or Mixamo, you will need to buy appropriate license.

Animations are included in the DAZ 3D EULA, and are allowed under the licence.

What you cannot do, is make the Aniblocks themselves available to anyone else, or use them in a way that someone else could extract them. Creating an animation with them, is what they are designed for, but you cannot make the actual blocks themselves available to other users.

Wendy, I looked at mixamo but I m not sure if their animations can be used for genesis (btw - I intend to purchase Game Dev license, so I m looking specifically at animations I can use with genesis since I am really liking Daz's character morphing and clothing model, and I m also used to it by now). I downloaded a test animation from mixamo just today and it was all messed up when applied to genesis skeleton. And sending genesis rig to them for auto-rigging would be in violation of even game-dev license (since that would amount to direct distribution of the extracted model). Any suggestions ?

Jimmy, so GoFigure has some deal with Daz then ? Having a game-dev license will apply to GoFigure aniblocks as well ? (essentially allowed to include embedded in a proprietary and/or possibly encyrpted format )

P.S. For what I m interested in these would be baked into keyframes and not stored as aniblocks, either separately or embedded.

you can get Daz friendly versions of the Mixamo motions
I have Gangnam style for M4 which works with tweaking on Genesis.

again I do not know about gofigure and do not think anyone on this forum but a DAZ_person can answer this for certain, (sorry Jimmy)
contacting them direct is the ONLY sure way of getting an answer that is legal.

while I do not make games, I follow the topic closely as I learn to model and rig for myself as it is something I might do in the future.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'll take a look at M4 figures on mixamo. I've also sent a PM to gofigure so I will post the answer here once they get back to me (hopefully soon)

Nice... I just tried a couple of freebies from Mixamo and used that 3rd party / Daz to convert to M4. The only thing I had to do is add genesis-offset. Hopefully that's all that's needed for the most of them. Thanks for that tip again.
