I bought some content from Daz,Marketplace. As the installer was working I noticed that it looked like it was installing the "essentials" which were already loaded. I just assumed that those things were just updating. Anyway, once everything completed, the desktop shortcut disappeared. When I navigated to the to the exe. file.... The interface was "whited out", and in a different layout view.
I restored my computer, and the icon came back to the desktop. Program opened up and minus the viewport, the rest was whited out minus the black text.
??? is a thing like this common?

Your Setting file was lost I think. Try Windows> Layout or Style and see if that brings it back to a working interface.
no style options available...the window that came up was screwy as welll...
is it safe to uninstall, and reinstall? since ive already started working on stuff
Not sure that will help, but you can try. I think the setting file will be left behind, check in APPDATA Roaming for DAZ Studio settings folders after a uninstall and only delete them. Leave any CMS or DIM files in that area.
ok, now the instal manager is redownloading DazStudio, without my prompting(other than to open shortcut).....looks like its having to reinstall a lot.....
I never did uninstall, so kinda weird... but we will see I guess
I'm not following, DIM should not install unless told to. And the Installed tab has a Uninstall option. Also DIM could be installing THE DS Beta and not the Full version. I personally manually download all programs and plugins and install by hand. I prefer knowing it was done my way.
ok ... everything is working fine now... looks like there was a update as the opening dialogue box is different....
I posted to tech support as well, so maybe they triggered the install managers removal and reinstall, but rather fluky if ya ask me....
I will just happy that everything is fine
Just happy your up and running.
thx, for your patience
