Install Manager Scanning deeper?

When you download content from other sites, and you use the install manager it seems to require a lot of double-clicking to get deep enough for the manager to register anything is there. I am curious as to if there is a way to scan deeper so I do not have to go through 20 files one by one double-clicking all the way scanning it for the install registering thing. Sometimes it scratches stuff on the surface but that is a rare treat. So yeah is there a way to do a very deep scan?

(Would be cool if you could use * in the search and use that as the way to scan.)

  • I'm not sure what you mean here - Install manager, as far as I know, reads certain specially structured zips in a specific download folder. Content from other sources can be set up for DIM, but it requires careful preparation or the use of a tool Like Content Package Assisatant.

  • I have learned if you downloaded something manually you can choose a download folder for install manager and it will scan that folder for certain things so that you can just hit the queue button I think and it will download and install them. However, sometimes it seems it is too deep and you have to double click a bit deeper for it to work which with too many things downloaded can be quite a pain. Of course, copying and pasting is an apt approach as well but the Install Manager seems to do a better job in some cases. It could be a placebo effect. From my experience, it seems it can sometimes somehow pick up stuff that the copy and paste somehow missed. Not sure if my computer is at fault or not.

Though with copy and paste it is still a bit annoying. Albeit now I just remembered the * trick so it would be easier than what I was originally doing.
