New 4.12 IK feature

Hello everyone
I'm trying the new IK feature introduced with version 4.12 of Daz studio, extraordinary. Now I wonder if it is not possible to save the IK when you save an animation in the content manager (not the scene backup). I have tried and when I load a figure and apply the saved animation to it, the IK is not with it.

Opinion?

  • Another solution would be, when adding the animation to the content manager, to calculate on the nodes involved in the IK their respective orientations and to save these orientations by disabling the IK
The goal is to be able to share the animations created in this way.

  • You mean a Pose Preset?

  • no a daz studio pose

    no a daz studio pose

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, that's what a pose preset is.

  • @paradigm: Yes, but when you use pose preset, you loose the IK that you have create so when loading a new figure and apply your pose, the IK doesn't work anymore

  • I've just retry with pose set and i can confirm that your custom ik is not saved when using pose set

  • @Richard Sorry i read too fast your answer..... Yes a pose preset (i read a poser preset sorry..blush.)

  • i found the solution, many thanks daz studio.....

When your ik is ok for you, go to edit menu, then figure, then Inverse Kinematic then click on 'bake ik to fk' and.... you can suppress the ik, your figure keeps the movement...and now when i save as pose preset, i can load a new figure and assign my saved pose, all is ok

But the saved 'pose preset' is still missing the IK.

You can save Ik/FK/ chains and Dial settings if you have the IK parented to-(what ever-bone)  and you have baked your studio keyframes you have animated( remember you animate the bone not the ik/fk chain.  the ik chain follows the bone  ..once done baking them.  savie the animation on the timeline as a animated preset with the baked keyframes it will save great  with the ikchains intact have . the timeline and ik-chains have to to parented & baked or it will not work

yes I have found that to be true with jointed props or if you parented the ik-chain improperly  . but i have not had that happen with rigged characters interacting with props during animations cycles . only with jointed props like numcuks or doors swings but not rigged boned items . check to make sure you have your ik-cain parented to the right bone
