Saving a multiple light setup; each light at its correct position; How?

Saving a multiple light setup; each light at its correct position; How?

Poorly worded question, so what I need is the ability to save all the lights as a preset so that each light imports into a new scene in exactly the correct place.

So far, all the lights end up in a big pile at coordinate 0,0,0  - frown

Yeah, maybe it is simple, but I sure don't get it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can save a Scene Subset and merge it into another scene later.

@barbult - thanks, scene subset solves it -

uh, how come save as preset doesn't work?  well, moot point I guess but why? we have character presets, why not light presets?

There is a "Light(s) Preset" save option. but I don't know how to use it or whether it can save more than one light at a time. the "(s)" implies that it should. I wonder if there is documentation about it someplace.

  • Were the lights prented to non-light items? If so their own coordinates would be zero, assuming they weren't offset, which might explain the issue.

@RichardHaseltine -  no parenting of the lights at all, not t a non light item, and not to each other. The Light(s) preset barbult mentioned I tried to use only once, with the reload fail I mentioned earlier.
