Symmetry Tool & 4.12
So attempting to do a walk cycle... Again This time using the new 4.12 tools. First thing I note is it DOES appear to handle movements a lot better, however I am running into a problem that is probably just me and my idiocy.
I've reach a pose from a basic stance that with a few minor adjustments could be considered to be the "Left foot passing" position in a walk cycle. Remember this is the fisrt step, so for the true walk cycle it is a little off.
Anyway, the pose is in image 1 & 2...
That said, I want to mirror this pose and adjust accordingly to get a good "Right foot passing" pose... The Symmetry tool is killing me, I cannot get anything out of it that even closely resembles the initial pose (mirrored). Image 3 shows my setting, (or I should say what I tried this time)
Image 4 & 5 show the results of the calculations.
Now one thing that I should note is that I do use a lot of the predefined movement groups. (I.E. head and neck, torso, etcetera) to give a ballanced effect to the initial stance. (in fact I think one is called "ballance on right foot", oh nope, it's called lift left foot, but it does move the center of gravity over her right foot. I do not know if these may be the issue, and if so, how do I get my "pose" to a point where I can actually mirror it and move forward with the animation attempt

Use Edit>Figure>Bake to Transforms before using Symmetry.
Did my baking, this time it didn't completely change the pose so I saved it.
However when doing the symmetry I pretty much get the same results, in fact it looks like the same pose as in image 4 & 5.
Try selectiong just the Root and using "Recursive" in the Propagation section.
Thanks Imago.
Unfortunately the only thing that changes when I set it as such, are her legs. to the same pose as pictured above...
Has to be something in the pose settings that just isn't getting read... You know, like when you use the "Bend Torso" to make the model hunch over, but then want to fine tune it, the 3 torso pieces show they are at 0 for all translations and rotations.
I've gone so far as to "bake" the pose and save it, delete the figure, start a NEW scene, (close Studio entirely) load a new figure, apply the saved pose, and try from there... same sort of results.
Aspect that has me worried is that if I cannot get this saved off right, then it wont be usable anywhere but in this scene. I am "trying" to create my own animations for some pretty basic stuff. Just can't see spending money on something that I "should" be able to do myself.
And yeah, just confirmed it is the pose... Attempted the same settings on a different pose (default "walking" pose,) and it worked like a charm
So, moving on, hopefully the issue will resolve itself as I progress...
