Making a dress and kneeling

edited December 1969 in The Commons

Hi

I’m trying to make some ancient persian like garments for Daz, but I'm not sure if Dynamic Clothing Control http://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-clothing-control would help me. I was thinking about export the Daz characters I created to Blender, just the mesh, create the garment over that, then export the garment to Daz and adjust, fit, wathever. The issue is I don’t know if extreme poses like kneeling will work properly, like in Dynamic Kimono expansion http://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-clothing/dynamic-kimono-expansion. Maybe this would help me? http://www.daz3d.com/sickle-dress-rig-genesis-2-female

Thanks

The dynamic clothes system in DAZ Studio is a proprietary format from OptiFlex, you can not use your own meshes with it.

The dress rig will help (if you're using G2F, if you're using G1 Sickle Rigging and Morphing System is the better idea), but you'll need to manually pose the handles to achieve a kneeling position, and should use the OptionalJCM to "unpoof" the dress's knee area afterward.

The Dynamic Coth Control plugin sold for DS will not allow you to create your own cloth or use your own mesh in DS. It simply gives you more options to fine tune the existing dynamic clothing and sims that are sold here.

You can import your mesh into DS as a prop. You don't have to purchase anything to rig the mesh as the version that is currently free from DAZ comes with the CCT's (rigging tools). However, I would highly recommend SY's dress rig and even SY's Morphing and Rigging System even though it is designed for for Genesis.

Nice this SYs Morphing and Rigging System.

I'm a Daz newbie, and I watched some time ago a Daz tutorial in which a girl was modelling a dress and teaching how to rig that and painting weights, but I had an issue with my Chrome and lost all my favourites since then. If anyone knows where that is it would be great.

    Thanks
