Laser beams?

I am wondernig if there is a laser beam that I could purchase or download for free?  Reason I ask is because in an animated series I am producing, a laser beam would be fired from a girl's ring, so that they could escape from a cage while underwater in a scene, just like Inspector Gadget did when he was underwater, and in danger or drowning in the episode "Infiltration".

Create a cylinder primitive, scale to the size you need, apply the Uber Iray shader preset that turns it into a light, adjust light to brightness and color that you want, turn on bloom under render settings (this thread has some good advice on bloom settings).

But then you'll need a shark so the laser can be strapped to its head!
